Wazzup Pilipinas!
An estimated 700k people flocked at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta to attend the Miting de Avance of Rodrigo Duterte and Alan Peter Cayetano. Simultaenously also happening is also a gathering of a mammoth crowd at the Crocodile Farm in Davao.
People were mostly wearing red shirts having printed images of Duterte proudly shown an flaunted for the world to see. I am just not sure if these numbers are really for Duterte since there are also many people who are just curious of what will transpire at the Miting de Avance.
Duterte had a lengthy speech after a song number of Freddie Aguilar who sang a familiar tune but with lyrics customized for Duterte's campaign. Duterte also showed off two of his pretty daughters in the middle of his speech before he ends it with the endorsement of other candidates running for different position which included Amado Bagatsing for Mayor of Manila, Cesar Montano for the Aangat Tayo partylist, Greco Belgica for Senator, Sandra Cam for Senator, Raffy Alunan for Senator, Francis Tolentino for Senator, Martin Romualdez for Senator, Roman Romulo for Senator, Gen. Santiago for Senator, Gen. Sammy Pagbilao for Senator, the Cancer partylist, ACP Partylist, Global Partylist, PBA Partylist, One Pacman partylist, and a lot more. We also noticed celebrity Julia Barreto on stage. Kat de Castro, daughter of former Vice President Noli De Castro and has an ABS-CBN show of Swak na Swak, was moderating the presentation of candidates.
Surprisingly, he even endorsed Manny Paquiao eventhough Pacman is allied with Jejomar Binay.
It is just a shame that there were fake postings on social media that came out showing off photos claiming coming from the Duterte-Cayetano event, which were later proven false and merely photos grabbed from other events that happened at different dates. Why do they have to come out with fake photos if their event is really strong? Are these the works of Duterte supporters or the detractors trying to confuse the public?
I must really say that Duterte is crude, rude, harsh, and major disconnect with what he's actually done in Davao, but he now undoubtedly got the people interested with this crazy and lewd style of attitude.
The Filipino really goes for the seemingly underdog similarly to how they celebrated the "Punyeta" dialogues of General Antonio Luna in the movie. Duterte could easily say "Putangina" and "Papatayin ko talaga kayo" to all who would go against him, lie to him treat the Filipino as low-lifes.
It feels like I am watching a stand-up comic with all the humiliating remarks towards the people they hate. They laugh at his words and treating them as jokes which brought back a memory of how foreigners negatively react to the Davao Mayor who is now running for President of the Philippines, and may actually win if we will based it from the surveys.
Don't worry. Whoever wins will get my support.... but of course I will always be critically watching over them just like what I did with the previous administrations.
And perhaps have somebody who will really be a public servant, and not one who wants VIP treatment and luxury. We should be able to easily approach and talk to them without having to set an appointment and fear their security.
I would expect them to fulfill all their promises. Everything was recorded and documented so it will be easy for us to review and demand. No excuses. Personally, I am for the implementation of the FOI bill, the Anti-dynasty law, end ENDO or contractualization, open opportunities to the real micro entrepreneurs, limit the ownership of lands and properties - only a few rich men owns most properties in the Philippines, no to reelection on the same position - give other people the chance to serve, etc.
Criminals should not be able to go out on bail. Kawawa naman yung walang pampiyansa. Fair dapat ang batas. Law enforcement should also be humanized. Hindi puro patay ang hinuhuli. They should be taught how to restrain or incapacitate instead of killing. Better yet, get rid of guns and replace them with stun guns or tasers. Prison should be decent and pare-pareho itsura, as well as treatment for both rich and poor.
Alam naman nating lahat ang tama at mali, and all of the corruption will stop kung merong full transparency, and everyone will be held accountable for their shortcomings. Walang immunity dapat kahit sino....even the president.
