The popular getaway located in Oriental Mindoro is attributed by some as the poor man's Boracay because it's obviously more affordable to go there but is almost as similar to the party destination of Panay island. It’s not about NO classes, No schools and YES to video games. The whole month of April I thought would be the happiest thing, being at home and playing video games. I thought staying at home the whole summer vacation was fun, not until we planned a FAMILY TRIP to Puerto Galera.
I did not think being together would be as interesting or even more than playing video games at home. It’s the JOY from the heart I am saying, not the joy from the eyes, or for yourself.
Let’s go on our first day. The first time I swam in more than 7 feet swimming pool. At first it was kind of scary, but when I get the hang of it, and my cousins joined me. I felt blessed to have this family.
Second day, we went snorkeling, again my first time. Although we only stayed for two days, there was never a reason for me not to be happy.
"The residents should realize that Puerto Galera is known for their good dive sites and their marine life rich waters, "So pag sinira natin yung mga coral reefs (for example), lalo silang walang trabaho" (if you destroy the coral reefs, the more they will not have a job). From the boat men, to the tour guides, to the resort owners, ..it's a chain reaction. So we preserve our destinations. We are very strict. We have the Magbabantay Dagat who's always out there at the sea to monitor. Every barangay has their own Bantay Dagat also. So talagang ano po, we are so strict aside from the national laws, mayroon pong mga pagbabawal sa dagat natin." - Wazzup Pilipinas
On our way home, my cousins and I planned some arcade games just for a minute, again another once in a lifetime experience. We were actually rushing because our parents gave us only 5 minutes, which for me is exciting. Finally, we arrived the house, slept, and woke up feeling good.
It’s not about NO classes, No schools and YES to video games. The best feeling in life is that when you enjoy your life with your family and of course with GOD. Don’t think of spending your time on going out for yourself, and being selfish of sharing your time with your family. Being with them is much better than buying things for yourself. Bonding with them is much better thank playing video games.
