Wazzup Pilipinas!
After a few weeks of playing with the latest Ekotek product, I'm now ready to share my experiences with their upgrade to the previous Ekotab Encore.
Featuring the Ekotab Encore 2, which boasts of double the speed and power mainly due to its Quad core chipset as compared to its previous Ekotab Encore's specification that has a Dual core instead.
Brought the tablet with me when I flew to Huma Island of Busuanga, Palawan for a three days and two nights of beach bumming (aaahhh I'm black again because of the summer sun), and it was well-used while I roamed around the island in a kayak. Bringing my Sony mirrorless camera is still too heavy and bulky (and I was afraid it was going to get wet if I make a wrong move while kayaking) so I used the tablet to take photos of the scenery.
The 2MP built-in rear camera of the tablet may not be as good as my Sony camera, but I was not willing to put my Sony camera in danger. Though I've seen some smartphones and tablets already with better built-in cameras, they are naturally a lot more expensive because of that.
The tablet is not too big and not too small, and fits nicely in my small black body bag that I always carry around with me. A quick pull of the tablet from the bag, and I am instantly taking photos with ease....and immediately returning it to the bag for safety.
The video above is my son unboxing the Ekotek Ekotab Encore 2
Though I know that if I fell from the kayak, we will still surely all get wet, it was assuring to know that the 3K prize of the tablet will not be a big deal to cry about. Yup, the tablet is that affordable.
I've taken this tablet on the road as far as a 10 hour bus ride from Manila to Camarines Sur, and gladly I also have with me the best partner to increase the number of hours possible to productively use the gadget, the power bank that packs a punch, the Ekotek Ekopack 13000 mAh powerbank.
Did I mention that my small body bag still has plenty of room for a powerbank as well? The bag actualy has plenty of room for more gadgets. Thanks to the lightweight Ekotek Ekotab Encore 2, and the 13000 mAh Ekopack powerbank, I had no problem keeping the two gadgets with me as I circle the island of Huma.
Enabling the Wi-Fi so I could keep online will the drain the battery faster so it's amazing to have the powerbank as well. This is the same if you play games during the trip. The tablet and powerbank are perfect partners to bring along for every trip to keep myself busy.
I've also brought the gadgets with me at our family staycation at one fine hotel in the Metro so I could keep online even at the poolside. Of course, bringing a laptop would be inconvenient and a smartphone is just too small a screen.
The two gadgets may not be top of the line as compared to the brands that are similarly available, but their affordable price more than justifies the current features. We all know that gadgets are always leveling up in specifications almost every few months so it is wonderful to have an alternative brand with acceptable features that the masses can readily purchase.
It is actually crazy to spend so much on the expensive gadgets when there's a more affordable alternative that can equally meet your needs. Add that the quality and after-sales services are already becoming competitive enough, sooner or later the majority will continue to seek the most practical technologies that is just right for their budget. Even the ones who can afford the top of the line will opt to buy what every Pinoy will be wanting, and much more.
