Nostalgically Recalling Voltes V: The Best Anime of Yesteryears
Wazzup Pilipinas!
"Children hurried home from school to catch the show (Voltes V), which was aired every Friday from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. on GMA 7. Without knowing any Nippongo, they memorized the Voltes V theme song—which can still be heard as mobile phone ring tones." - GMA Network
"Paano magmamadaling umuwi ang mga students ngayon eh puro kabitan, tomboyan, at baklaaan lang din naman mapapanood nila sa TV....Kaya sa Internet na lang ako nanonood ng kahit anong anime, cartoons, sitcoms, atbp."
I always loved the anime way back during the early days (the first generation of what is called "anime" today). It made my childhood great and I do hope ibalik nila yun. Tandang-tanda ko pa. 5 PM ang start after classes. Now I still yearn for those wonderful times na sinasabayan ko ang opening at ending ng mga Japanese cartoons noon that are now called anime today.
They have good stories that helped me understand that we should fight oppression and that to fight for liberty is a noble and worthy cause.
I remember every time there's a chance na mag-meet sina Steve at Dr. Armstrong. My heart broke talaga kapag hindi natutuloy. Saka when I found out na mag-kapatid sila Steve at Prince Zardos. May story talaga.
Before Voltes V was Combattler V, still w ay before everything else was Gigantor - back in 1976. But it was Voltes V that was first shown on Philippine television.
Who can forget Steve, Mark, Big Bert, Jamie and Little John ..The weapons like the ultra electro magnetic top, ground fire, Voltes bazooka, chain knuckle, and the laser sword!
Comparing with today's anime, nothing can compare to the depth of the story of the good old Voltes V and the rest of the giant robots controlled by humans inside that proliferated television. It has action, comedy, drama, love story, and family values rolled into one.
I remembered that the last episode of Voltes V was not aired during the Marcos dictatorship. It was because it was showing the concept of rebellion that may inspire the Filipinos to stand up for their rights.
Voltes V defined the generation of that time. Voltes V was one of the reasons why our childhood was unforgettable. No other anime comes close to its huge popularity.
I get nostalgic whenever I hear the Voltes V soundtrack... especially the song played at the end of every episode.
Yes, ANIMÉ IS NOT JUST A PLAIN AMUSEMENT FOR KIDS.
Those are the days when TV networks cared more about knowledge and moral values more than competitive TV RATINGS!
Today, morality is declining because our present TV series is not so concerned about moral values. What matters now is not morality. It's all about what's #TRENDING. Gone are the days when the flagship of morality was in its highest peak!
Let's volt in to change the current situation. Let us end the evil reign of these poor shows. Let us bring down these senseless teleseryes by not patronizing the said shows which only depreciates the learning of our children. We all deserve better content for our youth.
"Let's get ready to rise against the dark forces of the universe."
