Two Internationally Recognized LGBTI, HIV, and AIDS Advocacy Events on May 17
Wazzup Pilipinas!
This is a shout out to all LGBTI, HIV and AIDS Advocates, Supporters and Friends.
The Project Red Ribbon Care Management Foundation, Inc. (TRR) will be holding two international events on May 17, 2015 at the Liwasang Aurora, Quezon Memorial Circle from 2pm to 9pm.
The two events are the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) and the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial (IACM) both internationally recognized events which will fall on May 17.
Highlights of the event include a Solidarity March, Solidarity Concert, Ecumenical Service and performances from various groups and artists. Celebrities who have confirmed their participation include Ms Rachel Alejandro, KZ Tandingan, Jonalyn Viray, John Lapuz, Marissa Sanchez, Sandino Martin, Rica Paras. Mayor Herbert Bautista will lead the candle lighting ceremony. There will be other surprise guests.
The IDAHOT represents an annual landmark to draw the attention of decision makers, the media, the public, opinion leaders and local authorities to the alarming situation faced by lesbian, gay, bisexuals, transgender and intersex people and all those who do not conform to majority sexual and gender forms.
The IACM serves as a community mobilization campaign to raise social consciousness about HIV and AIDS. With 33 million people living with HIV today, the IACM serves as an important intervention for global solidarity, breaking down barriers of stigma and discrimination, and giving hope to new generations.
This is the effort of TRR to unify two big communities as we raise our voices against discrimination and stigma, fight for our rights and raise our concerns not only here in the country but to the international community.
Different LGBTI, HIV and AIDS Organizations, politicians, celebrities, government and NGO, health care providers to give messages of support and performances.
Below is the programme of the IDAHOT-IACM 2015 Philippines.
If you want to participate, please bring your banner, flags, colorful umbrellas, colorful attire, whistles, bells, ribbons, candles, placards, fansigns and other paraphernalias as we make our voices heard.
