The Corazon Aquino Expressway: NLEX to be Renamed as CAEX?
Wazzup Pilipinas!
According to recent news, there are plans to rename a highway to CAEX. A popular newspaper has shared that the "House committee on public works and highways chaired by Benguet Rep. Ronald M. Cosalan has approved a bill renaming the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) the President Corazon C. Aquino Expressway (CAEx). The 84-kilometer highway we now know as NLEX has already undergone several name changes since it was built in the 1960s: Radial Road 8, Manila North Expressway and the Manila North Diversion Road."
How about TAEx for "The Aquino's Expressway" Now that's a name that's "embowelled" to the pits.
MIA - NINOY AQUINO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
NLEX - CORY AQUINO EXPRESSWAY
EDSA - NOYNOY AQUINO AVENUE
ROXAS BLVD. - BIMBY AQUINO BLVD.
LUNETA PARK - JOSHUA AQUINO PARK
EDSA SHRINE - PINKY AQUINO SHRINE
SLEX - BIEL AQUINO EXPRESSWAY
MANILA BAY - BALSY AQUINO BAY
Why not rename also National Mental Hospital, New Bilibid Prison, Smokey Mountain, Baseco Compound, etc.. ?
The name grabbing prostitutes in congress are on a re-baptising orgy! Ass lickers in the first degree!!And what will these "sipsip" lawmakers think of next? I hope they will not rename Tarlac to Aquino province. Why must politicians have to leave their poop-mark by always renaming public streets, highways and facilities... Juice colored! Congressmen spending time and effort just to change the name of roads, airports and bridges have too much free time on their hands.
Change the Name of our Country Republic of the Philippines to "Republic of Corazon Aquino". Why not change the name of the Philippines to Benigno Simeon Aquino III or BENISIMA III.
PNoy, don't you have anything else to do than changing names of every "infrastructure" you choose??? Your mother "did just that" already (change the names of everything that Marcos did), so please do something else... Something different, something a president should be doing... How about that?!?
Naming a lovely fragrant rose after a dead Lady President Aquino is of good taste, instead of naming an already known expressway- such as North Luzon Expressway after her is so unfeminine. We have already Ninoy Aquino International airport. Let's give a chance to others.
Let's just keep it generic. NLEX. To rhyme with SLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX. People will not be confused. And they're all politically neutral.
We have a committee that handles renaming roads, etc. So if renaming is approved that is already an accomplishment? A child can do this, let's abolish this committee if this is what they have as a major proposal.
What is the economic impact of this name change? What is the social and cultural impact of this name change? Nothing. Gibberish. Stop.
We need more traffic rules and regulations changed and more roads routes with lesser chances of getting flooded.
More than 50 years later, the Filipinos are still paying tolls. Is this a clear case of huge corruption or Filipinos simply don't care if they overpay?
While the Chinese are renaming and reclaiming the west Philippine sea, our public officials are so busy renaming places
Please stop wasting people's money on changing the names of streets and highways. By doing so, the historical significance of and memories connected to the earlier names are lost! Focus on more important things rather than changing the names of these roads.
They should make laws, to strengthen peace and order, Fight against corruption. Strengthen the Economy, etc.. that may alleviate the lives of the people. Re-naming street, roads and places is just a show ..it does not mean anything. What a waste of time and money. I'm pretty sure there are more pressing issues the House of Representatives can address rather than waste time on renaming roads.
Lets make these roads, buildings and even ports and airports, free from any political names! Lawmakers should make a law prohibiting this renaming! Not a law to change name of this kind!
I believe in the adage that says "give honor to whom honor is due." but our beloved former President Cory has already reunited with Ninoy on our 500 peso bill. We already carry her in our hearts and, occasionally, in our wallets.

I am favor to veto that bill. Walang maitutulong yang name change. Just my cents.
