Radio Co-Hosting at VIGATTIN Radio Show of Radyo Inquirer DZIQ 990 AM

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It is always a delight to co-host at Radyo Inquirer DZIQ 990 AM for the VIGATTIN radio show which airs every Saturday from 10 to 11 am. The main radio anchors are Elison Barceló and Arne Barceló. I co-host when I'm not too busy with my work load as your Pambansang Blogger ng Pilipinas here at WazzupPilipinas.com, and soon on the new TV show on IBC 13, the Wazzup Pilipinas TV.

The radio station is located near Shopwise Pasong Tamo in Makati city so it's quite easier to go there but my co-hosting stint at Family Business of Kinse Trenta (formerly Radyo Uno) DZME 1530 AM every Sunday from 5 to 6:30 pm, with Tito Nel Talavera, Bart Abaya, Dona Raquiza and Coach Dave Aguila, is more convenient for me since it's just located along San Miguel Avenue of Ortigas Center.

Similar to my arrangement with the VIGATTIN team, I am able to show-up at the Family Business show only when I don't have a conflicting event, or is not too preoccupied with obligations. Both shows guest mostly businessmen and entrepreneurs who want to get some significant airtime promotions to reach out to the greater masses of which radio shows primarily target.

I recently linked the two main hosts of the radio shows thus forming another alliance and a partnership for another TV show on cable and national TV which they call Baratan on Activate. We are always welcome to all forms of collaborations to further increase our reach and connect with more audiences to benefit both us and our customers.

VIGATTIN is actually an acronym of Victory In Governance And Technology Through Information Network, and is also a wordplay of the Tagalog word "bigatin" which means "heavy" that connotes someone or something that's at a level above from the norm. The radio show highlights entrepreneurs and start-ups majority of which deals with science and technology, and other related endeavors, which are really awesome and sometimes breath-taking.

It is with great honor, and a privileges, to listen to our esteemed guests talk about their ventures and accomplishments especially in the field of Information Technology being one of my fascinations. Last May 16, 2015's line-up of guests was a great treat for me as our topics ranged from IT to my very first love - the arts.

I mentioned that we have two parts of the brain - one that works on the logical and the other on the creative aspects, and indeed after 30 minutes of discussing breakthrough technologies coming from the PCARI projects, one cannot stop himself from thinking that the previous technologies in the many science fiction movies that we used to watch are now becoming real. It seems we are destined to make our dreams a reality.

One of our guests, Dr. Louis Alarcon, Project Head of PCARI RESE2NSE, talked about one of the eight amazing PCARI science projects. The Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes (PCARI) research projects is a tie up with the University of California-Berkeley, as well as the University of the Philippines, and several local Philippine private universities to come up with various breakthrough innovations and products to cure major global illnesses, as well as solve information technology (IT) global challenges.

From the website he suggested we look into for reference, it states that "The PCARI RESE2NSE (Resilient Sensory Swarms for Smart Energy and Environmental Monitoring) project explores the concept of an open swarm hardware and software platform as a means to address energy and environmental monitoring — a challenge that is foremost in every country in the world, but even more outspokenly so in the developing countries. With a focus on smart energy usage and delivery, and dynamic environmental monitoring, the Swarm Vision creates an entirely new perspective that allows for increased scalability, reliability and extensibility of monitoring and operational sustainability of public energy utility systems. In addition, the project is also aimed at developing new technologies that will use micro-fabrication technologies to enable low-cost, resilient, and scalable instrumentation of the power distribution infrastructure.

Miss Ida Marie Alcoba, Marketing Manager of JNBM Paperclay promoted the "Yamang Sining Yamang Dagat" Paperclay art competition organized by JNBM Paperclay. JNBM Paperclay is the very first Paperclay Company patented and proudly made in the Philippines which sells a great alternative of the traditional mediums of art.

We are more familiar with oil, pastel, watercolor and rarely uses paperclay for our artworks. But that needs to change soon. Paperclay is moist, soft and colored paper that requires no firing or baking which adheres easily to most surfaces without using any adhesive material. It provides a texture in two-dimensional effect, and when it is air hardens, it creates an extraordinarily lightweight and durable finished work of Art. Paperclay is also water-based, clean, odorless, non-toxic, safe for children and eco-friendly.

JNBM Paperclay is a company that values family oriented concepts and activities that aims for excellence, openness, enthusiasm, teamwork, sense of purpose, and at the same time provides a rewarding experience that promotes dignity and respect. JNBM’s mission is to “touch more lives.”

As part of the JNBM 10th Anniversary Celebration, and in their bid to promote awareness of the advocacy in the care and preservation of Marine Wildlife, they recently launched a Paperclay art competition, entitled “YamangSining, YamangDagat.” This competition aims to introduce Paperclay as a universal art medium and would serve as inspiration for a new batch of Paperclay artists that would create World-Class Paperclay Art pieces.

Our other guests, Doc Erwin (via phone patch), talked about another PCARI project. Doc Erwin discussed about inkjet printing of integrated circuits and other electronics components.

Lastly was a phone patch interview with Tina Amper for the promotions of events such as Geeks on the Beach to be held in Boracay this August 20 to 21. The great minds of the tech, startups, and design are coming together for two days to share insights.

There were also intriguing questions about Manuel and who is he waiting for, who is Manuel and what will happen on May 22 at EDSA Shangri-La Hotel.

Never to forget the promotion of the UproarCamsur music festival on May 28 to 31 at the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) where both foreign and local bands gather together to give another ultimate three days of fun entertainment for all music lovers.
