Metamorphosis: Unfolding the World of Digital
Wazzup Pilipinas!
After almost two months of preparation, a group of Polytechnic University of the Philippines Marketing Management Students showcased their talent on how to conduct an academic seminar. And last February 20, 2015, Erudite Productions finally conducted a seminar entitled “Metamorphosis: Unfolding the World of Digital at Cinema 9, SM City Sta. Mesa. The whole cinema was jam-packed with students from different schools, professors, parents, relatives, friends and other special guests. Based from the theme Metamorphosis, the lectures of the two speakers tackled about the evolution of Traditional Marketing to Digital Marketing. Their talks were not only informative but truly motivating. And what’s good about it was that the audience were able to interact with them. There were also intermission numbers which really made the crowd go crazy! And of course, raffles and give-aways from the generous sponsors.
The event started with a doxology which really captivated the hearts of the audience, followed by the Philippine National Anthem and PUP Hymn. The people behind the production were introduced one by one; MARJORIE R. CAGADO (Project Head), RAFAEL P. RIVERA (Co-Project Head), JOHN DAVID V. GALIZA (Marketing Head), KRISTY V. LEBRIL (Treasurer), JEREMIAH NORIEL and SARAH ROSE SALLEGUE (Public Relations), FELIZA JANE NALANG, ALLYSA FLORESCA CUNANAN and LOU JAME AQUINO (Research & Development), JERICCA ANN OROCAY and ANGELO DUEŇAS (Graphics & Designs), PAULO S. NAVARRO (Officer-In-Charge) and Professor ANGELINA G. GOYENECHEA (Adviser).
The hosts, Kristy and Dave, acknowledged the presence of the audience and guests. They also gave thanks to the sponsors of the event by the aid of an AVP.
The first speaker, Ms. Pauline “Petim” Maminta, the Sales and Marketing Manager of DS Prats Group of Companies, tackled mainly the difference between traditional and digital marketing. She played several AVP’s pertaining to the topic and asked questions to the audience. She ended her talk by answering her own question on which is better between traditional and digital marketing by saying that “It depends.”
After Ms. Maminta’s talk, the masters of ceremony did some raffles. They gave away SM Cinema tickets, The Generics Pharmacy items, Happee Icy Fresh toothpaste, Jack ‘n Jill X.O Black Coffee candies, Treehugger notebook sets, and shirts from Erudite Productions and University Newspapers from BusinessWorld. It was followed by an intermission number by Mr. JiAr, former back-up of Sam Concepcion, with two other dancers. And as expected, the crowd became hyper!
The next speaker, Mr. Thomas John Villanueva also known as Coach TJ, a well-known speaker, coach, author, and mentor in online marketing industry, was no doubt one of the most motivational yet very entertaining speakers. His talk was more practical since he is a living proof of success. Everyone really did relate to his talk.
More raffles where given away in between the whole seminar. There was also a photo booth outside the cinema from Red Images, and a mini bar by Cheers Mobile Bar. Relans Photography covers before, during and after the event.
The last performer was one of the highlights of the event. Stan Perfecto, a former finalist of The Voice Philippines and singing bee singer totally made the crowd crazy wild! It was like his mini concert and the audience happily and readily interacted.
Just like a butterfly the event was beautiful, colourful, and full of highlights. Ms Jean Drilon rendered a song while everyone leaving the cinema. Not only freebies the delegates took but they also gained more information and motivation from the speakers.
