Wazzup Pilipinas!
The German appreciation for healthy, well-prepared foods served with care is well known worldwide. My first time to visit a German restaurant was not a disappointment. I loved the traditional German dishes such as Sauerbraten, Bratkartoffeln, sauerkraut, quark and even the usual potato salad done really right. These dishes are also best washed down with a frosty mug of beer.
This is probably why instead of just a traditional press conference, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (GPCCI), together with its partners that organizes the Mabuhay Germany 2015 event, held a food-tasting media event featuring some German food concessionaires around Metro Manila.
Members of the media, including online media or bloggers, had an opportunity to preview what to expect at the upcoming event. Last year's Mabuhay Germany event was participated by around 50 companies and almost 30 of them were exhibitors offering lots of world-renowned and favorite German food like sausages, schnitzel, doner, sauerkraut and of course, beer.
Mabuhay Germany 2015, just like its previous run last year, will again be held at the Bonifacio Global City on February 21 and 22, 2015. There will be lots of activities like a corporate bingo, an al-fresco event featuring 1980s and 1990s music and, to emphasize, definitely lots of beer.
Nadine Fund, General Manager of GPCCI, welcomed the media guests and invited everyone to experience German food and culture. The dishes featured during the food tasting event is a preview of what everyone could taste in the annual gathering where both German and Filipino culture will converge and enjoy.
Concessionaires featured in the event were Bamm, Booze Online, Inc., Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant, Fraulein's German Sausage Deli, and German Club Manila.
Bamm, located at A. Venue Mall in Makati Avenue, specializes on German-Turkish comfort foods such as assorted sausages and other specialties like the Doener, Koefte, Currywurst and Radler, a beer-lemonade mix.
Booze online Inc, is engaged in importing and distributing global wines, spirits, and premium beers. We all know that German restaurants pride themselves for having great beer choices, and Booze Online can provide the demand. The company offers a listing of over 100 different brands including exclusively distributed brands such as Hoegaarden, Stella Artois, Becks, Leffe, Paulaner, Chimay and Delirium Tremens.
Brotzeit offers authentic German cuisine accompanied by world famous German beers in a chic and contemporary setting. The restaurant now has two branches in the Philippines, one at EDSA Shangri-La Mall in Mandaluyong, and the recently opened Glorietta 4 branch in Makati. Experience traditional Bavarian cuisine, with a douse of influence from modern Germany.
Fraulein's German Sausage, owned by a Filipino-German couple, produces tasty, authentic and premium-quality delicatessen, using fresh ingredients, imported spices, and traditional German recipes. The brand takes pride of serving flavorful German products that are reasonably priced.
German Club Manila is a home away from home for its multinational members and distinguished guests and has been providing comfortable ambience, superior food and beverages, and a warm club atmosphere, that's also ideal for private family gatherings, and other functions. Its catering service and restaurant locate in Legazpi Village in Makati, is known for its excellent dining venue with impeccable service.
See you soon at the Mabuhay Germany 2015 on February 21 and 22. Just follow the joyful laughter, fun music and adorable smell of beer, and you won't miss it.
