Century Tuna Stages Inaugural Ironman 70.3 Triathlon Event
Wazzup Pilipinas!
After three years of support to the 5150 Triathlon, Century Tuna advances further to stage for the first time the Ironman 70.3 triathlon event in Subic Bay this coming March 5 to 8, 2015. Ironman 70.3 is a half-Ironman distance triathlon and is among the most exciting races that attract hundreds of thousands of athletes and supporters all year-round. It has been staged a number of times in the Philippines and has brought in a lot of professional athletes from other parts of the world.
The Century Tuna Ironman 70.3 Triathlon will be the latest addition to the growing number of races in the thriving triathlon scene in the Philippines. It has built a reputation as a hot triathlon destination in Asia making it worthy as a tourism partner for the Philippines since it will surely attract the interest of many foreign tourists that love the said sporting activity.
Over 20 professionals of various nationalities are expected to visit the country including three-time Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander, as well as superstars Luke Mackenzie and Caroline Steffen.
Subic has been chosen as the perfect venue since it offers accessibility and the ideal terrain with its calm waters and well-maintained bike an run routes.
This is why the Tourism Promotions Board of the Department of Tourism (TPB-DOT) represented by TPB COO Chicoy Enerio was present in the launch held last February 18 at the New World Hotel in Makati city. We believe the event is a major tourist attraction that the DOT should anticipate as an opportunity to further promote the Philippines.
Century Tuna promotes healthy and active lifestyle thus supporting triathlon and fitness community events like this Ironman 70.3 triathlon. Century Oacific Foods Inc., General Manager Greg Banzon feels it is time to offer the Filipinos a bigger challenge that keeps pace with the expectations of the community.
The event was hosted by the energetic wacky trio of the Boys Night Out namely DJ's Slick Rick (Eric Virata), Tony Toni (Anthony James Bueno) and Sam YG (Samir Gogna).
Just as Century Tuna is exported to 48 countries like the USA, Canada, Australia, the United kingdom, Italy and most countries in the Middle East, the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon event will surely be a global event to get the attention of many foreign nationalities.
Congratulations in advance to the organizers of this event. We need more of this kind of sporting activities to encourage more Filipinos to live a healthier lifestyle and to stay fit and healthy and become more competitive.

I am glad about Century Tuna's advocacyt. I am sure that many triathletes will be glad about this big event. The so-called "three-sport contest" is a huge factor in an athlete's experience, that's why I am sure that this event would be succesful.
