Dance Unite!: One United Move and Groove to Raise Funds for the Rebuilding of Yolanda-‐Stricken Areas
Wazzup Pilipinas!
The Yolanda-stricken communities are still in the process of rehabilitation so we could bring back a new and improved-for-the-better Central Visayas. It was such a touching experience hearing about lots of relief donations in many forms, from cash to kind, from service to celebrity visits, to the Philippines after the Yolanda or internationally known Haiyan tragedy.
However, we must not stop helping because the storm may be over, but the tragedy is still very clear in memory for those affected especially when they are now starting again from scratch, or from what little remains of their personal belongings or properties. The noble efforts must continue if we really want to
It would be of great help if we help rebuild their lives that have been devastated by a cruel weather disturbance that left many of our countrymen feeling so hopeless and forsaken after the loss of their loved ones and homes.
Thus, it is with great admiration to keep seeing movements for the benefit of these Yolanda-stricken areas. I understand that the process to recover will take years so all the efforts are well appreciated. Among the many organizations that have partnered together to bring back hope for the Yolanda survivors are the Lifeline Foundation and Food for the Hungry.

Property24 Makes the Big Move to a New Home
Wazzup Pilipinas!
The largest real estate classified ads site in the country has recently transferred to a new, bigger and better home within the same Union Bank Plaza building in Ortigas Center. Your friendly neighborhood pambansang blogger decided to pay a visit to see what the "big move" fuzz was all about. I later found out that they are now at the 27th floor coming from their previous work hub at the 24th floor shared with OLX.
The property portal's new urban-themed modern workspace can now accommodate more people up to an average of 50 personnel. The new office environment is designed to be a laid-back setup so that the staff can freely move around and work comfortably wherever corner or spot of the office they prefer.
Property24 Country Director Steve Santos says they wanted an open office design that encourages out-of-the-box thinking and employee collaboration by implementing a good balance of fun and function.
BGC Passionfest 2014: A Boni-Fide Urban Fiesta on November 28 to 30
Wazzup Pilipinas!
"BGC Passionfest" is set to once again fill the dynamic city on November 28, 29 and 30, 2014 with various activities focused on culture, art, fitness, lifestyle and most of all, FUN!"
At a press conference held at the Lorenzo's Way restaurant last October 21, 2014, the team responsible in organizing BGC Passionfest 2014 announced the many planned activities happening on the three event dates highlighted by traditional Filipino food, games, and culture-inspired activities like kalesa rides, street food extravaganza and many more.
Your friendly neighborhood pambansang blogger is such a sucker for "throwbacks" and historically significant events so these activities lined up this last week of November would be a sure hit for me. This will also make the young ones appreciate the good old days when the Internet has not yet conquered the lifestyle of many individuals. Nowadays when smartphones, social media and apps ruled the past time of many, it is such a wonderful sight seeing the youth experience how it was during the past.
Dinner in the Dark from Zoomanity for the Benefit of the Eye Bank Foundation
Wazzup Pilipinas!
The Zoomanity group has started bringing us "Dinner in the Dark", an activity that is already popular in some countries because of the uncanny situation that will leave most people learning to appreciate our sight more, and understanding the state of the blind handicaps.
The honorable program, that is more of an advocacy to support the Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines, was designed to encourage more people to undergo an experience that simulates the world of the blind people by providing you a venue where you will eat in total darkness. It initially started in Tagaytay as a part of the 4 venue trials but may soon become a regular activity in many of the Zoomanity group establishments.
We got to experience "Dinner in the Dark" in Makati, specifically at the Misono Teppanyaki restaurant along Jupiter street, where we were taken to a dark room, blindfolded at first, and eventually taken off as soon as everyone was seated.
What was amazing during that night was that our guides were the members of the blind community.
Chef Lau's Pugon Roasters Now at SM San Lazaro: Fiesta Araw-Araw with Fast Good
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Your friendly neighborhood pambansang blogger was recently invited to a grand opening of a new branch of restaurant partly owned by a famous chef couple. The invitation came directly from the chefs themselves so I'm pretty sure we were more than welcome to join the other VIPs and guests mostly coming from the friends, affiliates, suppliers, relatives and friends of the owners.
Chef Lau's Pugon Roasters now opens its 4th branch at SM San Lazaro, just a short walk from the LRT Tayuman station, and offers "fast good" that's not just yummy but healthier for you as compared with the traditional fast food restaurants that uses artificial flavorings and the dreaded MSG (more popularly known as the "vetsin" or "mono-sodium glutamate") or its similarities and variations that are continuing to proliferate the market and makes our food seem tastier but are actually endangering our health.
Chefs Rolando and Jacqueline Laudico, or more widely known as Chef Lau and Chef Jacqui of the famous Guevarra's by Chef Laudico and Patisserie Filipino, boasts of using only natural and fresh ingredients. No instant, no artificial, all good. The "pugon" oven or brick oven concept used in this fast food type but fine dining level of restaurant operation is remarkably the first, and a daring approach backed up by the culinary expertise of the Laudicos.

Why Phishing Works and How to Avoid it
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Phishing attacks are by far the most popular form of cybercrime in the 21st century. There have been news reports on the lists of organizations whose customers fell victim to phishing attacks.
Phishing scams increase in quality and quantity every day. Whereas spam tends to be merely an annoying distraction, phishing frequently leads to real financial losses.
If the threat is so real, why don’t people learn to avoid it?
Why Phishing Works?
There are many ways to take advantage of a user’s trust
There are numerous reasons why phishing works so well, starting with the ability of the scammers to play mind tricks on victims, in order to lure them into trouble.
Phishers can use tempting offers, like complimentary giveaways, in order to bait users. This is a very efficient method, as many people would likely take advantage of a free offer.
A scammer can also use the buzz around a certain topic or event – take, for example, the large-scale scam that occurred after the FIFA World Cup. In the summer of 2014, a phishing site imitating the official FIFA web page, prompted users to sign a petition in defense of Luis Albert Suarez, the star forward on the Uruguay national team. In order to sign the petition, a user had to fill out the online form, which required one’s name, country, mobile phone number, and email.

"Romeo and Juliet, The Musical ", Set to Open on October 24
Wazzup Pilipinas!
As a season offering to all young adults, Kids Acts Philippines proudly presents “ ROMEO AND JULIET ” edited with additional lyrics by LUIGI NACARIO and music by EUGENE BELBIS.
This William Shakespeare’s novel will be staged by maintaining the classic requirement of the play from costumes to the set. The music is composed through a fusion of western and eastern with contemporary flavor. “Romeo and Juliet” is simplified without sacrificing the original texts of Shakespeare to let young adults understand and comprehend on how the play is written. In the play, dialogues are sung with full observance of how phrases are being read.
IN THE TOWN OF VERONA, there were two rival families, the Montagues and the Capulets, involved in a family feud that goes back years before any of the members were born. One night, the Capulets held a supper at their house inviting friends and relatives of their own.
Though a Montague, Romeo attended the party to forget his love for Rosaline. During the night he met Juliet and immediately fell in love with her. To his dismay he found out that she was a Capulet. But still, he pursued his feelings towards her, that after the supper he decided to jump inside the Capulet’s yard to express his love for Juliet. In the balcony, they confessed their love for each other and agreed to secretly marry the next day.

Wazzup Pilipinas Original Short Stories Series: If Only
Wazzup Pilipinas!
The owner, a woman, lives in a house all by herself including her dog which acts as her body guard. The reason as to why the robber chose to rob her house in particular had something to do with the fact that she was a female. Because she was a female and lived alone, the robber thought that it would be easier to break in the house and subdue the victim if ever he was caught.
Although not mentioned in the story, the line ‘Her clothes were forcefully ripped off and barely covered her torso.’ Indicated that the thief may have done something sinister and sexually-immoral to the woman but stopped when the woman was struggling too much so he just decided to kill the woman quickly and take what he came for.
In fact, it has been proven in studies that women are mostly the targets of criminals especially when it involves robbery, breaking-and-entering, and rape. This is because women are physically weaker than men so they are easy to overpower. The robber in the story had been watching the woman’s house for a while to calculate whether it’ll be an easy target or not.

e-Blog Mo Na Yan! Welcomes Our Brothers from the Muslim Community
Wazzup Pilipinas!
October 18 episode of e-Blog Mo Na Yan! was an eye-opener for most of us in Vigattin Radio of Radyo Inquirer as we welcomed our guests from the Muslim community who was there to talk about their event at one of the hotels in Makati.
Since it is an invite-only gathering due to limited resources of the group, we won't mention anymore when and where except the fact that is it today, Sunday October 19, 2014.
The discussion revealed a lot about our brothers and how many of us are blinded by the false common knowledge that made the word Muslim sound like a rebellious or terrorist group. Many would equate our Muslim brothers as main perpetrators of crimes and wars against Christians, but many of us in the studio begged to question that perception.
I shared that one time when we were toured around Manila and passed by the Muslim community where the Golden Mosque is located as well as the Quiapo church, I told them the noticeable difference between the two religions and their manner of praying to their Gods. I also mentioned how the tourist guide and the vendors there would warn us against snatchers and pickpockets that would usually be committed by non-Muslims.
A Well-Engaged Audience at the Professional Blogging Summit
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Thank you to Jeoff Solas of DPop and Janette Toral of Digital Filipino for the opportunity to become one of the speakers at the recently concluded Professional Blogging Summit last October 18, 2014 held at the A. Venue Mall Vibe Live events place located at the 2nd floor of the said mall in Makati Avenue of Makati city.
Your friendly neighborhood pambansang blogger, Ross Del Rosario, and fellow bloggers Azrael Colladila, Jay-L Aquino, Seph Cham, and Sai Montes joined Jeoff and Janette in giving talks related to blogging. Azrael, Jay-L and I were asked to talk about how we started our blogs, and how we managed our networks plus how we dealt with the issues and controversies. Seph Cham talked about his fashion turned lifestyle blogging that later made him as endorser or ambassador of many brands, and Sai Montes shared how she used her blog to sell and earn in an online business. Of course, the two organizers (Jeoff and Janette) also shared valuable inputs that will surely benefit everyone who decides to enter into blogging.
Being among the three bloggers who talked about topics related to maintaining a professional bloggers and social media specialists network was already an accomplishment since the other two have been in the blogging industry for several years already. I on the other hand started Wazzup Pilipinas only last March 2013, but is very grateful for the many recognitions and partnerships it has already achieved.
I appreciate the opportunity to reminisce the past when I first decided to blog and network with fellow bloggers, partners, supporters, clients, and of course our readers, plus the eventual developments that took place as I managed my Wazzup Pilipinas network.

With Hera's experiences with her father and husband, women, even today, are still striving to achieve gender equality. Men are traditionally superior to women. This is an old saying that is still true nowadays. Currently, women wants to be recognized not just as a housewife but as an individual who could also do what men could do.
Traditionally, men are the only one who should be handling weapons such as guns. But to show her invulnerability, she showed everybody that women are also made to hold weapons especially when they are in great danger. They should posses strength and bravery, too.
Generally, men are superior to women. This is one thinking that was changed in the story. Hera proved that women should be equally superior to men. There are things that we all know were only done by men but are now also done by women. Violence against women should be stopped. Women shouldn't be treated as slaves, prisoners, or possessions.
Government groups focusing on women's rights are very essential to each community to give attention to those women who are experiencing the same as what Hera does. They need to feel loved and cared by people around them. Or else, just like Hera, they would also experience depression and other illnesses. They are not only physically ill, but also mentally, emotionally, and psychologically.
