Beauty Fair and Boys & Girls Bazaar is Until October 19 at Elements Centris
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Christmas season is definitely just around the corner. I can feel the generosity of many people as we see a lot already window-shopping for possible gift ideas, if not already buying whatever they find cute useful, unique or interesting, as early as the "ber" months so they can also shorten their Christmas gift list.
We are actually tempted to buy early as many bazaars are now starting to make their presence felt all over the metro. Recently, the biggest mall chain in the country just had their big mall sale in some of their branches of which that one in the Ortigas area also caused a lot of traffic jams.
Twiin Concepts has also organized a back-to-back bazaar for beauty, and boys and girls, where lots of cosmetics, retail and novelty items where showcased. This is being held for three days from October 17 (Friday) to 19 (Sunday) at the Elements Centris in Quezon City. This means readers wll still have an opportunity to visit the event until tomorrow.
Five Things to Expect from Philippine Real Estate Over the Next Few Years
Wazzup Pilipinas!
With the Philippines emerging as one of Asia’s bright spots and a darling of international investors, it is clear to say that the country’s real estate market is experiencing its best years not seen since the onset of the Asian financial crisis in 1997. Even the global downturn of 2008 did little to dampen the country’s exuberant business climate.
Although it seems that the Philippine real estate market is at its best time yet, more opportunities are expected over the next few years. Lamudi lists down five of these.
1. The Rise of Real Estate’s Sunshine Industries
Although the residential sector is experiencing its most vibrant years, there are still other segments that could provide plenty of opportunities. One of these is properties intended for retirees.
According to Cely Delos Santos, a licensed real estate consultant and vice president of full-service consultancy firm REHub, properties catering to wellness and medical tourism and estates for retirees are considered sunrise industries that promise huge growth over the next few years, especially now that the Philippines is fast becoming a favorite retirement option among foreign retirees and returning Filipinos.
PLDT Home Fibr Sponsors the Philippine Men's & Women's Volleyball Teams for 2015 SEA Games
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Selfie with the men and women of the Philippine Volleyball Team was easy, thanks to a selfie monopod provided by a fellow blogger with the name of Ivan the Sporty Guy who was also present at the press conference where they launched the individuals that make up the team.

PLDT HOME Fibr will be sponsoring this year's Philippine Volleyball teams. 36 players - 18 women and 18 men, will be trained for the upcoming SEA games in June 2015.
36 is a lot of names so I will just update this post as soon as I get the soft copy of the press release containing all 36 names.
But for now, I would like to share that the team is composed of both veteran and newbie volleyball personalities that underwent extreme selection based on significant criteria established by the management team.

Wazzup Pilipinas!
WD, world leader in storage deployed for modern datacenters, today announced its innovative WD Ae line of hard drives designed for the unique operating characteristics of the emerging archive tier within web-scale datacenters. Built on a platform to achieve optimal total cost of ownership (TCO), WD Ae hard drives utilize the lowest possible power consumption and a Progressive Capacity™ model to enable a new tier of storage for large-scale cloud infrastructures.
“Modern datacenter customers came to us with a need for an HDD solution designed specifically for ever-expanding cold-data repositories,” said Matt Rutledge, senior vice president and general manager, storage technology, WD. “Now in our third generation with over 700 petabytes deployed, WD is bringing the WD Ae drive to the broader market, representing another vital component of WD’s capacity storage portfolio, which delivers features and product attributes optimized for the rapidly evolving storage market.”
The expanding scale of data creation and the corresponding need to retain, preserve and extract value from that data creates a new and unique challenge for large-scale datacenter entities. Reliable, long-term data management for massive-scale data storage is becoming ever more critical. The conventional tools and technologies for cost-effective storage are not effective in massive-scale datacenters, so entirely new approaches to storage architectures and associated component technology are emerging.

‘“You ruined my personality! You helped build me but also caused my downfall! You should’ve stood up to Hector when he prank me at Valentines Day, instead you laughed with that no good Ms. Richy Rich who planned to do that. Tara was never good for you. I wasted my love for you, you moron!” I am now teary eyed, this is now or never. I must do what I must do. I aimed at Anthony’s temple.
“Everything went according to plan, or it should be. I was supposed to feel victorious but all of a sudden my conscience is killing me. I took a deep breath as I hoped and prayed that the Dear God above may bless my soul for whatever outcome I may yield in my harvest.”
More of these sensational lines included in our short story for the day. I would like to think I started a great series here of short stories that I'm thinking of making it a permanent thingy in my blog. Yeah! "thingy" to sound a bit informal as the short stories can be a mixture of serious thrilling escapades or some humorous adventure ala tele-serye or slapstick style of writing. Maybe I should make it interactive and allow the contributors to freely publish them on their own and call it Wazz Pad...Lol!

Wazzup Pilipinas Original Short Stories Series: Lost in Darkness
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Everything that is opposite is complementary. One cannot exist without the other. Balance is the maintenance of good to control evil to avoid it being too much or too less.
People often make illusions to themselves either by pretending to be another person or believing to be what other people told them what he or she is. You must believe in yourself in order to avoid this illusion.
The greatest illusion is being divided. We must remember that we are all one and connected. No matter how many countries there are or different groups of people present, we are all humans. No matter how many species of animals or plants there are, we are all living things. We live in the same universe created by God, therefore we are a part of the same whole.
Success can only be achieved through many failures. Facing your fears could help improve yourself.

Proactiv is Still the Superior Anti-Acne for Our Family
Wazzup Pilipinas!
If it weren't for Proactiv, my 15 year-old daughter could be suffering with a lot more worst pimple problems especially those that seem to occupy more the areas around the forehead portion of her face. I guess it's not really possible to be totally pimple-free as that would be peculiar for a teenager at her age. Besides, let her become a be a bit burdened with the troubles of teenage hormonal imbalance so that she would be able to share her experience with her kids when the time comes she becomes a parent.
The Proactiv Solution 3-Step System is the best choice when it comes to preventing acne breakouts and blemishes. There is no other product or combination of medicines out there that has the same performance. I would actually wish it was available accessible for me in the past during my teenage years so I could have taken advantage of its superior formula to help in preventing a chaotic pimple breakout in my face.
Proactiv treats acne safely and effectively by attacking it at the source where a build-up of dead skin cells and bacteria clogs your pores making it the most effective pimple fighter solution. It gently cleans and unplugs your pores and kills acne causing bacteria since it is mild enough for everyday use. The penetrates deep into your skin to destroy the bacteria and help reduce inflammation and heals the lesion. Your skin clears without the drying, peeling or chemical smell you may find in other products.

Are You Fed Up? Stand Up Now and Fight Against a Conspiracy!
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Your friendly neighborhood pambansang blogger was recently given the opportunity to watch a documentary movie entitled "Fed Up." It was smart play of words meant to have a double meaning to tackle the issues surrounding a common knowledge that have stricken the nation, yet somehow we are just made to believe it is a "culture" that cannot be changed.
Thing again! Eating wrong was never a culture. It is a collective conditioning that were forced on us by an industry that are only after our wallets. They don't care of the increasing cases of obesity and malnutrition. They don't care if more people are getting sick and inflicted with diseases even at a young age. They don't care if they steer away the minds of the youth from the real and natural foods.
But if you're thinking its is only the work of those industries involved in selling, distributing and manufacturing food, then you are still blind of the facts that even the other companies like the pharmaceuticals, insurance agencies, and other indirect but obvious "beneficiaries" of bad health, would benefit a lot from the dilemma of an ever-increasing population of fat and unhealthy people."Fed Up" takes an honest look at why, and exposes the food industry for what it is – a profit chain that considers health unimportant at best.
The event was led by Jan Vincent Ong and was held at the Awakenings Clinic located at room 351 in Mile Long building Amorsolo corner Rufino street in Makati city. Sugarleaf' s Marketing Director, Angelo Narciso Songco, was there to watch the show, He was the one who invited me to this event. Zigla sponsored the food and drinks consisting of the healthier alternative kind of food.
Wazzup Pilipinas Original Short Stories Series: Hyde
Wazzup Pilipinas!
I am a Kpop fan and VIXX is one of my fandom. They had this song entitled "Hyde". When you watch the music video and familiarize yourself with the lyrics, you’ll see that these six guys were trying their best to conquer the evil person inside them who tries to kill the girl they love. Their song was also inspired by the novel of Robert Louis Stevenson, "Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". As the song says “Jekyll and Hyde, I am both of them..”
Edward Hyde in the story is a small, deformed, disgusting man somewhat younger than Dr. Jekyll who is apparently devoid of a profession. Lanyon, Utterson and Enfield all describe witnessing something indefinably evil and horrific in Edward Hyde's face. He is often compared to animals, implying that he is not a fully evolved human being.
Despite these descriptions, Hyde is generally civilized in his interactions with others, most notably Utterson and Lanyon. Dr. Jekyll describes Hyde as "pure evil," who menaces society at night, trampling a girl in the street and murdering Sir Danvers Carew. We learn at the end of the story that Edward Hyde and Dr. Henry Jekyll are in fact the same person.
Bewlo is our short story for the day. Enjoy!

After several elimination matches, the Versus Mode ends in a last grand match with the finalists, Takako Sono, Sigmund Torre and Cam Aragon for battling the championship. The event also features the special participation of Solenn Heussaf in bonus match with Joel Poniente.
The project is presented by The Mustache Creative with the support of The Circle Hostel, Heygarch, Feiyue, TEF, Radio Republic, KomunikaNasyon.com and Media Arsenal
Tournament History
In 2011, visual artist/designer and founder of The Saturday Sketching Sessions Art and The Mustache Creative Piaget Martelino met DJ Allrock, partnered up and together with hula hoop flow artist Sweet Caneos (Tempest) to do Busted Wednesdays and have since been sharing their passion for Art and Music.
Martelino who currently can be seen painting at 4 events says that it’s a priority for him to keep people guessing what he will do next. In the beginning he would paint less intricate versions of his studio pieces but soon felt that painting in the same style all the time made it repetitive and eventually would diminish the overall experience live art gives its viewers.
Wazzup Pilipinas Short Stories Series: For My Son
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Never ever miss the chance. If you can give your efforts to something, give it. If its wasted, then create another effort for you to spend. “Better give efforts, than take efforts, efforts might eat you” ~Albert Einstein
It’s better that you tried your best for something, instead of someone giving you that something, for they might use it as gratitude.
The father’s reaction or the change in the father’s personality is very normal for anyone. The fact that his son became angry with him, made him change his ways. He worked very hard, just to take the responsibility of a father.
The father sacrificed his life for his child, this is also natural for all the fathers out there. They even say, “I’d rather die providing you what you need, than die you providing me what I need”

Wazzup Pilipinas!
Romantics believed in the natural goodness of humans which is hindered by the urban life of civilization. They believed that the savage is noble, childhood is good and the emotions inspired by both beliefs causes the heart to soar.
Romantics believed that knowledge is gained through intuition rather than deduction. This is best summed up by Wordsworth who stated that “all good poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings.”
Romantics legitimized the individual imagination as a critical authority.
Realistically, don’t assume or expect too much. Also, don’t be affected or be carried out by our emotions just because we are excited of something. We should be informative or we should be sure about something before we make our decisions in life, otherwise we might get in trouble or bad things will happen.

Agripreneurs Challenged to Prepare for ASEAN Integration in 2015
Wazzup Pilipinas!
The Philippine agriculture sector is expected to benefit from the upcoming ASEAN economic community integration provided that the government and the agriculture sector players have sufficient preparations.
The country’s agriculture sector is currently not competitive compared to the markets of Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. Poor farm-to-market linkages, failure to modernize and specialize make the Philippines' agricultural industry unable to cope with the ASEAN free market.
To help address these concerns, the 2nd Philippine Small and Medium Enterprise Business Expo (PhilSME) 2014 with the tagline “Boost Your Business” is conducting an SME Agri-Forum, a seminar designed to enhance knowledge and prepare agricultural entrepreneurs for success in the local and regional market place.
“It is imperative and urgent that our government and agri-businessmen must start working closely together as the Thais are doing. Believe me, I have not seen this. If we do not act soon, much of our agriculture will perish, poverty will increase, and we will have the opposite of the government-proclaimed goal of inclusive growth,” business tycoon Manuel Pangilinan said during the World Economic Forum.
The SME Agri-Forum will be held on the 2nd day of PhilSME 2014, November 22, at 5:00 pm and will feature business models, trends, threats and opportunities for the upcoming ASEAN integration in 2015 and equip the young agripreneurs to keep pace with the future of the agriculture industry.

7 Things You Should Know About Sunscreen Protection
Wazzup Pilipinas!
When you think you already know the ins and outs of sunscreen – here come new findings and information on what it really does to your skin, why you should use it, and when you need it most.Apart from the universal knowledge on SPF numbers, there is more than meets the eye about the sun and its effects that you should consider before choosing your next sunscreen product.
Read up on the 7 things that will change how you view, choose, and use your sunscreen product.
1. Sunscreen is not only intended for summer or at the beach. Dermatologists worldwide recommend the daily use of sunscreen.
2. UV filters in make-up are not enough for daily protection. Sunscreen in cosmetics normally protects your skin against one type of UV radiation only. Plus, makeup products are not applied on regular intervals within the day, so you don’t really get the right level of sun protection stated on the pack.
3. It is known that there are 2 kinds of UV radiation from the sun that affect your skin: UVB, which mainly affects the outer layers of the skin and known to be the main cause of sunburns; and UVA radiation which penetrates deeper into the skin with long-term and oxidative damaging effects such as DNA damage, premature aging and higher risks of skin cancer. However, did you know that besides UV radiation, the sun also produces Infrared (IR) radiation that triggers collagen degradation which leads to wrinkles, sagging and adverse heat effects?

Epson Transforms the Dot Matrix for New Applications
Wazzup Pilipinas!
The old, ubiquitous Serial Impact Dot Matrix (SIDM) printers (simply known as Dot Matrix) is one of the first types of printers to be widely used in the office space. Synonymous with extreme durability, the dot matrix uses a matrix of small pins to strike an ink ribbon and create precise dots on the page.
The sounds that accompany this type of computer printing come from the impact of a print head running back and forth, or up and down, on the page. The print head strikes an ink-soaked cloth ribbon against the paper, much like the print mechanism on a typewriter. However, unlike a typewriter or daisy wheel printer, letters are drawn out of a dot matrix, and thus, varied fonts and arbitrary graphics can be produced.
Businesses, especially in Asia and Latin America, continue to rely on this ultra-durable printer with its generally strident mechanism that can be heard all over a productive work area.
The dot matrix printer continues to be a reliable partner in accounting departments or other businesses that require applications for multiple copies or carbon copies that have to be printed simultaneously, such as receipts, tickets or invoices. This is a special function that laser and ink-jet printers cannot accomplish.
As a pioneer and world-leading manufacturer of dot matrix printers, Epson has always been equated with this well-regarded machine.

Pride Press Party 2014: LGBT Community Launches 20th Anniversary of Metro Manila Pride March
Wazzup Pilipinas!
In support of the LGBT community, your friendly neighborhood blogger went out of his way to attend a press launch on a Saturday night. I usually reserve my weekends for family but since it's the first time Wazzup Pilipinas was invited by the organizers, curiosity got the best of us to trek to an unfamiliar territory in Quezon City.
Coinciding with the National Coming Out Day - a civil awareness day that recognizes the bravery of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders in the face of hardships in their everyday lives, Task Force Pride (TFP) Philippines, official convener of the annual community-driven Metro Manila Pride March, launched the 2014 Metro Manila Pride Season with the Pride Press Party last October 11 at the Boho Sarapsody Bistro located in Cubao, Quezon City.
I had a bit trouble finding the place since Boho Sarapsody Bistro was a residential house in Ermin Garcia Avenue renovated as a cool crash and hang-out spot. As indicated on their Facebook page: " In our group of friends, there's always one person in the group who has the go-to house where we are all welcome to crash and hangout. We are that house." True enough, the place seems like your everyday friendly neighborhood's house perked up a bit and added with a bar that serves drinks and surprisingly great meals.

Meet the Singh Family: An Interview with the Homeowners at Lancaster New City Cavite
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Meet Mr. Butch and Ms. Marivin of the Singh family, with their grandson Patrich, proud homeowners of a 3-bedroom Margaret home at Somerset Village 4, one of the many phases inside Lancaster Estates, "a 1,400-hectare English countryside-inspired community in Lancaster New City Cavite Mega Manila, specifically Alapan located in Imus, Cavite, that is just 15 to 20 minutes away from NAIA airport." Their new home was a gift from their loving son, the father of Patrich, who works abroad for a living. Amazingly, the house cost only 1.9M which was a bargain since
Your friendly neighborhood pambansang blogger met them after lunch time at Gregoria's Kitchenette where we dined on delicious Sinigang na Baboy, Afritadang Manok and Garlic Butter Shrimps immediately after our tour of Lancaster New City Cavite.
It was an awesome opportunity to interview them about their new home which was turned over to them last January of this year. They started renovating the house from its bare form to its present state last March, and was able to move in last April. This means, as of this writing, they've been staying in their adorable new home for six months already.
What the couple liked about their new home is that "the neighborhood is so peaceful especially at night. There's also no traffic and pollution as compared to our previous home which we were just renting. We are also so happy to share that our grandson has gained lots of new friends with the neighborhood kids. We are confident that he will be safe as our village is guarded 24 hours a day. We can instruct the guard not to let the children out so they won't get into trouble outside the village."
