National Geographic Explorer extended its program to the young minds by bringing the world inside the classroom. The organization developed a holistic and integrative environmental education program to further encourage learners and educators to engage in purposive learning. The aim of this organization is not just to inform the public about the what's, the how's and why's of things, but also to inspire them to move and do something about the world around them. Informative, entertaining and interactive activities were developed as well to motivate young learners to explore within the safety of the classroom.
The E3 Pedagogy in Learning: Interactive Approaches Improving Classroom Instructions and Methodologies for Millenial Learners was held at the 3rd Flr. Auditorium, Kaban ng Hiyas Building City of Mandaluyong. The event shared tips and techniques to K12 teachers to become innovative leaders to the students in order to make them life-long learners. They give both prestige and a remarkable experience to the educators of this country.
The honorable Mayor Benjamin Abalos was there to give the Welcome Remarks. Ms. Arlene Padua Martinez, President and Managing Director of National Geographic Explorer Philippines gave the Opening and Closing Remarks, while Ms. Jeanne Danielle Martinez, Program Manager of National Geographic Explorer Philippines, launched the program.
This is National Geographic Explorer-Philippines first In-Service Teacher event for this year which aims to educate the teachers on how to be interactive when it comes to giving classroom instructions and methodologies.
Since this was a free event, hundreds of teachers took advantage of attending to discover new methods that could help them in their daily teaching requirements. It is great to know that many take time out to improve their skills and adapt new ways to further enhance their capabilities for the betterment of the student populace.
Since the students' success relies heavily on how their intelligence and behavior were honed and trained throughout their study days, we owe a great deal to the teachers in producing quality graduates that will soon become the next leaders of our society, including the government.
Session 1 was ran by Mr. Francis Downey, Vice President for National Geographic Learning who discussed "Practical Approaches to Improving Pedagogy and Methodology in the Classroom."
Mr. Jim Huang, CEO of WorldEduCorp Pte Ltd - Singapore discussed "Employing Digital Technology to Your Advantage in the Classroom" for session 2.
While Mr. Henry Tenedero, President for Center of Learning and Teaching Styles Philippines and Mindful Ideas, talked about "Leveling Up the Filipino Learners in the Context of ASEAN Integration" for the final session.
Mayor Abalos said in his speech to never lose hope. From what he have experienced before, he still managed to rise above the difficulties and challenges. Most of us know the troubles he faced, as well as the issues against his father before, but that didn't stopped him to continue doing with what he believes in.
A couple of song numbers was rendered by the young guest performer to entertain the audience and give the much needed break from all that influx of learning from the two sessions.
A few raffle prizes were also given away to lucky attendees.
We would like to thank the organization for an admirable objective for the benefit of our teachers. Hopefully the event has made the attendees a lot more equip to face the greater challenges ahead.
