Wazzup Pilipinas!
We are thankful for the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) for inviting Wazzup Pilipinas to A Marvelous BPI Christmas Bash held last December 11, 2014 (Thursday), 11am at the Compass, InterContinental Hotel Manila.
The Media Appreciation Party was supposed to be scheduled last December 9, 2014 but they had to postpone due to the expected landfall of Typhoon Ruby in Metro Manila. They apologized for the inconvenience because they said our safety is of utmost importance and concern for them. For that we are forever grateful as well since not only are they extending us their thanks for a year of partnership, they valued our safety too.
The afternoon was filled with entertainment from a band who performed several song numbers, individual and group games, amazing raffle prizes, a buffet meal where they served "lechon" or roasted pig among the other dishes, and a "sugar rush" section where they offered several sweets aside from the dessert at the buffet table.
The event was a superhero-themed celebration intended to thank the media friends of BPI for a year of support. maybe for them we are their heroes so they are now letting us become superheroes even just for this day.
Every corner was filled with superhero images, from the registration area, to the stage, to the tables, all filled with comic action words including "BPI" which for me means Blogger of the Philippines and its 7,107 Islands.
I told Eunice from Corporate Communications that I am also connected with other media entities like Vigattin Radio of Radyo Inquirer, and UNTV where I would be part of four shows having special segments where we will be incorporating the Wazzup Pilipinas brand, a partnership that would be a fusion of television and online media.
They didn't required us to be in superhero costumes so I didn't bothered to prepare or put on a costume but they have masks per table which they asked us to design using the different art materials in our table. There were vibrant stickers, colorful markers, and other stuff we could use to decorate our masks.
I should have asked them if I could have those cute superhero toys and the Batman mask so I could give them to my kids..hehehe
I did managed to come up with a superhero outfit using the mask and huge BPI action word balloon. "BPI" for me means Blogger of the Philippines and its 7,107 Islands.
Seeing the stage, I knew in an instant that there would be a band performing later. Entertainment was provided while we were having lunch.
Lots of sweets to raise our energy for the day. Later I realize it really had a n effect on me because I was so hyperactive that day.
The host was so witty and humorous as well as he could easily jive with the audience.
The band performance was a bit loud due to the small space and high volum of the speakers. But I enjoyed the songs since the vocalist was really good.
I joined the contest they called "Superhuman Touch" where we were suppose to use our "power" of touch to be able to guess certain items while blindfolded. What you see above is a fellow blogger who was trying to figure out what the sticky stuff he was touching. He failed to guess it right, but your friendly neighborhood Pambansang blogger ng Pilipinas was able to guess the slimey gummy worms I touched.
Head of PR and Corporate Communications had a few messages for all. We appreciate the gesture of thanks.
I was very fortunate to have won in the raffle where I had the opportunity to bring home a new 32" Samsung LED TV which would eventually replaced our existing television in our living room. Incidentally, I also got to win in one of their individual contest and brought home a gift card worth P500 for being able to guess a mystery item while blindfolded.
It was truly a wonderful Christmas bash for aside from the prizes, everyone got to bring home some BPI merchandizes as tokens. Thank you BPI for a great afternoon!
