Christmas is a time when most kids receive a significant amount of money coming from their loving parents and relatives who are more generous during the season, especially those who recently received their 13th month pay or Christmas bonus from their employers, or earned a very hefty sales from their business.
Many kids would surely plan on how they would start spending their money,, but for a talented and business savvy bunch called Kiddo-preneurs, it’s also a time to learn how to earn – and that’s exactly what they’re going to do at The Kiddo-preneur Christmas Bazaar on Sunday, November 23rd at the Glorietta Activity Center on Palm Drive (across the Raffles Hotel) in Makati.
For this annual kiddie entrepreneurial event, kids think of a business, set up shop, and sell their wares to eager holiday shoppers. Often times the Kiddo-preneurs work hand in hand with their siblings, classmates, other relatives and/or friends to run the business in a fun and profitable way.
The brainchild of ANC Anchor Maiki Oreta and her little daughter Brielle, Kiddo-preneur began in 2011. Their goal then and to this day is to create a venue where kids can be entrepreneurs for a day.
Through this unique experience, kids get to learn about math, money, and business first hand through practical experience. Healthy competition is also encouraged as prizes and trophies are given away for categories such as: highest sales, best service, best booth design, and best concept.
Oreta notes that, “Kids see us spending left and right, especially during the holiday season; it would be nice to involve them in the process of earning too. And with their hard earned cash, they can then buy gifts or donate to their favorite charity this holiday season.”
Indeed, Kiddo-preneur is a novel way to teach kids all about business early on!

The Kiddo-preneur Christmas Bazaar is very helpful for the children. Instead of spending their money on buying toys or gadgets, it’s better to put it up into a business so they will gain more money. It's good that at a young age the kids have learned how to earn money through business.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like an interesting one for children. The bazaar shows another way on how to spend the money they'll get during Christmas time. A good thing that at an early age, a kid is enjoying and learning at the same time the basic knowledge about money and business. :)
