Wazzup Pilipinas!
Gathering over hundreds of participants across the country, building intact and sustainable rapport among our attendees all the while instilling values and qualities of an ideal leader, this year’s Governors’ Leadership Training Summit has marked another preeminent event in our journey as we pursue to cross more and more borders. Held last October 24 – 26 at the very scenic and sheltered Camp Benjamin, Alfonso, Cavite.
GOLTS 2014, with this year’s theme “TURBULENCE: Building a Leader’s Success Amid Challenges” assembled over hundreds of participants who took part in a 3-day Hunger Games-inspired training summit. This enabled our participants in sourcing their inner Katniss and Peeta as they went through different challenges and on-hand leadership drills.
Henry Tenedero delivering leadership talk |
Participants were firstly inculcated with a very engaging and perceptive leadership talk delivered by the ever wise and witty, Mr. Henry Tenedero who is not only a living evident of success in the industry but also a remarkable leader, inspiring others to mold more leaders. The attendees were undoubtedly moved with his speech gearing up each and every one in the crowd for what would be in store for us as future leaders with his practical and useful tips.
This was followed by the afternoon session which was prepared to formally open the Hunger Games, assigning each tribute to their respective districts as they equip themselves for the challenges that soon await them but first, a few activities to stir up the tributes:
Day 2
Day 2 officially marked the start of Hunger Games activities wherein tributes had to accomplish the task in all 12 stations to be able to get a puzzle piece, which they had to put together at the end of the activity. There were also gold coins, which would be of help to be able to determine their district’s ranking. However, districts need to be equipped with proper gears and materials as they go on the stations as well as to defend themselves from their competitors hence, the Cornucopia.
Upon getting their equipment, the games had officially begun! The activities did not only allow the districts to endure the challenges, it also instilled a sense of camaraderie amongst each of them as they go through physical challenges, mind games, and of course, enjoyable and fun obstacles.
The day did not end without the most anticipated Solidarity Night where tributes had the chance to interact with their co-tributes from different districts. This became more fun as everyone participated in the costume party with their respective tributes who were dressed up using reusable materials such as garbage bags, straws, etc. This showcased the creativity of each district, channeling their impressive works as they modeled their costumes in front of the pumped up crowd.
Day 3
The last day proceeded to the awarding ceremony recognizing the districts and tributes that stood out during the challenges the preceding days. Afterwards, all attendees gathered and enjoyed their lunch over a boodle fight. Officially concluding GOLTS2014, our Federation President, Mr. Richard Lim Sy extended his thanks to the tributes, who participated in this remarkable event.
Last but not the least, the Philippine Junior Marketing Association would like to address our deepest gratitude to the tributes for this year’s Governors’ Leadership Training Summit who made this annual event a huge success.
