Comedy Cartel Presents the Finals of the Laugh & Stack Open Mic Showdown

Comedy Cartel, the pioneers of observational point-of-view stand-up comedy in the Philippines, finally brings you the culminating event of a one of a kind year-long competition that will discover the best of the best from the local comedians.

Your friendly neighborhood pambansang blogger is proud to have been invited as one of the esteemed guests to witness a night of fun and definitely lots of laughter. I will also be inviting some of my friends to join me as this is an event intended to be shared with everyone. Laughter is so very much contagious and we intend to cause an epidemic of epic proportions.

After having 15 legs, held at four venues, and 36 participants, the Comedy Cartel's Laugh & Stack Open Mic Showdown will now have its Grand Finals on November 22, 2014 at the Relik Tapas Bar & Lounge at Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

The top ten winners namely Winer Aguilar, Miguel Alejandrino, Chris Bacula, Chip Balbuena, Bill Beatty, Rene Cruz, Jr., Sherwin Cunanan, Ros Fajardo, Jethro Trogo, and Hugh Vincent will battle it out for the grand title of Laugh & Stack Open Mic Showdown Champion. Who's going to bring home the top recognition? Find out at the Grand Finals!

To act as judges will be there of the countries veteran stand-up comics namely Tim Tayag, one of the pioneers of stand-up comedy. Tim has been performing for more than 17 years across the globe. The second judge is Mike Unson, anotehr veteran stand-up comic who opens up for Rex Navarette, and also seen him  opened up for Fil-Am actor comedian Rob Schneider held here in Manila at Solaire Resort and Casino. Third on the list is Richie Fernandez, one of Comedy cartel's resident comic who has been doing stand-up comedy for more than 7 years.

Prizes at stake for the Champion are Php 20,000 in cash, a Samsung Galaxy Tab and a Beer Trophy. First Runner Up will receive Php 3,000 plus a Beer Trophy, and Second Runner Up will bring home Php 2,000 and a Beer Trophy.

Good luck to all 10 finalists and regardless of who emerges at top three, being among the finalists is already a rewarding experience and recognition.
