Wazzup Pilipinas!
It's very rare that our entire family could spend so much time together. Usually it would just be dining out or watching a special blocked screening of a movie. We are therefore very grateful to have an opportunity to experience a family staycation to give us more time for some much-needed family bonding.
But due to the hectic work schedules waiting for us come weekdays, we cannot afford to travel long distances just to find an accommodation suited for a few days of temporary respite from work and, in the case of our children, study. What we need is a quality and soothing place that will still allow us to relax while still able to easily go back to our daily routines afterwards.
Just a few blocks away from the Greenbelt Mall is KL Tower Serviced Residences, our chosen home for the weekend. Located in Makati’s business district of Legaspi Village, it is the ideal location to keep closely in touch with everything else in Metro Manila. Makati is very accessible to anything you'll need since you'll find almost everything within just a few walks to its malls that literally side-by-side with each other.
Noticeably seemingly paired with another hotel as seen from a distance, it stands high with 30 floors, of which the best is the 7th floor. Why that floor? It's because that's where the indoor swimming pool is located, as well as the sauna, the gym, and some function rooms.
As seen from the signage, the place is located at 117 Gamboa Street of Legazpi Village in Makati city.
The lobby is so simple with just a few decorative furniture and an interesting wall decor that looks like a bunch of flying birds for me.
The establishment offers chic and stylish residences with contemporary amenities ideal for daily or extended stay. An initial look at one of the rooms during my first visit already raised my hope for a great weekend. Also, when I was informed there was a room connected with another room to provide a bigger space for a large group, I instantly knew it would be a very lovely... rather, make that awesome weekend for the family.
I am impressed with the interiors of our room. So simple yet elegant and classy. The different shapes and textures applied in the room is fabulous. This goes the same with the connecting room given to us. Since there were five of us (three kids and two adults), a single room would be a bit small so we were given a second room with a bigger space and an extra bed for the fifth person.
Aside from the very comfy queen size bed, there was a large LED TV with Cignal satellite TV subscription, a desk with a lamp on top, and a cool yellow pair of seat with foot rest.
Both rooms have their own mini kitchen complete with basic necessities like a microwave oven, a personal refrigerator, an induction stove, and an electric water heater. Aside from the table with a couple of chairs, there were also a couple of plates, cups, glasses, and kitchen utensils. Complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea are available. Apparently, they also provide pots and pans so you could do some cooking if preferred.
Over at the clothes cabinet was a ironing board, of course with an electric iron. There were complimentary slippers and laundry bags.
The bathroom is equipped with a a shower (no bathtub) hair dryer, plus the basic shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush with small toothpaste, cotton buds, lotion, etc.
You'll love the view from our room because it's the best spot to see the many buildings located in that area plus a view of the parks situated in the area.
Since our rooms were too extravagantly nice to waste, we decided to have our meals in the hotel room instead of going out at Kitchen 1B at the ground floor or at any of the nearby restaurants at the Greenbelt Mall.
We had some take-outs of burgers from Teddy's Bigger Burgers and some meals from Bruce Lim's Rustique Kitchen which were both just around the vicinity of the hotel.
As mentioned earlier, located at the 7th floor was the most exciting area of the KL Tower Serviced Residences because it contains the function and amenity areas of the hotel like the indoor pool, sauna and gym.
We all tried each one of them for a few minutes. Since we 're there for only an overnight stay, a few minutes of usage as sufficient enough to try out each service.
The gym equipment were all easy and user-friendly to use. Even the sauna was self-explanatory but we still requested for supervision as based on the instructions posted at the sauna entrance.
Of course, we spent most of our hours in the waters of the pool.
My kids really enjoyed our entire stay at KL Tower Serviced Residences. Though we've been to more extravagant hotels before, the facilities provided by the hotel were outstanding already.
After a very relaxing sleep during the night, our mornings were made even more special with the complimentary breakfast at Kitchen 1B. Kitchen 1B offers yummy and healthy organic meals that will surely perk you up until your next meal.
There were a few choices available but we ordered the more filling American and Filipino set meals, except for my youngest who opted for the waffles.
All breakfast meals comes with bread, veggie salad, fruits, and choice of coffee, tea or juices, making your dining experience a lot healthier and complete.
The Sto. Nino De Paz Chapel is undergoing renovation to make it bigger to accommodate more people but it stops during during certain days to make room for mass.
Near the KL Tower Serviced Residences was also the Legazpi Park where there's a playground for kids, and and at the nearby parking lot is the Legazpi Sunday Market where you can buy very affordable farm produce, clothes, toys, plants, street foods and other interesting stuff.
This makes the stay at KL Tower Serviced Residences more convenient as you can buy almost everything you need from the nearby malls, or at friendlier prices at the Legazpi Sunday Market. Anyone who stays within the area is accessible to a lot of products (malls, restaurants, groceries, kiosks, etc), services (salon, spa, massage, etc.,) and entertainment (cinemas, video game shops, etc.,).
Everything you'll ever need is in Makati. The best part is the area within Legazpi village is the greener part of Makati where two parks are just right opposite the KL Tower Residences. Aside from the Greenbelt Mall which is nearby Glorietta, SM, and Landmark, at the opposite side is the Makati Square where other options are available.
My wife was all smiles all the time we were at the hotel except when our kids go strike their notorious spoiled brat attacks on us when they prefer to do something else other than what their mother plans.
Every kid wanted to just stay at the hotel to either go swimming or lie down in bed watching TV while swiping on their tablets and smartphone browsing with the fast free Wi-Fi Internet provided by the hotel. But everything has to end for the meantime as we prepare to go back to our regular daily routines.
We checked out late at around 4 pm and rode a taxi back home taking with us very memorable memories at KL Tower Serviced Residences.
