Herbalife Wellness Tour Returns to Asia Pacific

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Herbalife, a global nutrition company, has announced the launch of its second Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour, which will see six of its Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) members and experts visit a total of 25 cities in Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Building on the success of the inaugural Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour held in April this year, which recorded an attendance of 22,000 across the region, this October edition of the Tour seeks to further amplify public awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy lifestyles in an increasingly time-strapped world.

"The trends of rising obesity rates, ageing population and mounting health consciousness are not showing signs of slowing down. With the return of the Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour, Herbalife seeks to highlight the impact of these issues, and impart practical, balanced nutrition tips and positive lifestyle habits to help people live healthier lives in today's busy world. The visiting NAB members and experts will also conduct training for our Independent Herbalife Members, equipping them with nutrition knowledge to better serve their customers," said William M. Rahn, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Herbalife Asia Pacific.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 1.4 billion adults are overweight and at least 2.8 million adults die each year as a result of being overweight or obese -- which is linked to several chronic lifestyle illnesses including diabetes and heart diseases. In addition, population ageing is taking place in every country (WHO), making it vital for people to adopt good nutrition and fitness habits early in life in order remain healthy and independent well into old age.

A key highlight of the Wellness Tour is a series of public health seminars presented by the Herbalife NAB members. At the health seminars, the NAB members will address key health and nutrition topics including current health trends, the importance of understanding the human body, and how to ensure good inner and outer nutrition. The seminars are open to the general public, as well as to Independent Herbalife Members.

An exciting first for this Wellness Tour is a series of medical symposia to be held in Korea, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan. The medical symposia will look at the core issues facing public health and provide a forum for industry professionals and healthcare experts to discuss the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy active lifestyles to our overall well-being.

The Herbalife NAB members participating in the Wellness Tour include:

· Dr. Julián Álvarez García (Sports Medicine and Sports Physiology)
· Dr. Marco De Angelis (Sports Medicine)
· Dr. Nataniel Viuniski (Pediatrics and Nutrition)
· Dr. Gary Small (Brain Health and Ageing)
· Dr. Marion Flechtner-Mors (Nutrition and Obesity)

Jacquie Carter, Herbalife's Director of Outer Nutrition, will be joining the Tour in India. She will share her knowledge on how bodies can be nourished from the outside in, as well as launch Herbalife SKIN, Herbalife's range of outer nutrition products that balances ingredients, botanicals, and extracts with proven science to achieve maximum daily results of beautiful, healthier and younger-looking skin.
