Wazzup Pilipinas!
Like kangaroos, bloggers seem to leap lightly about and move by hopping on one foot and then the other. Bounce, deflect, skim or ricochet from one point to another doing event hopping as if each venue were just at a very near proximity.
You really have to admire how most bloggers can easily manage their time to do several events for a day and successfully writes about it. Yeah, there may be delays but the whole point is they were able to help both themselves and the establishments that seek online presence.
Imagine being able to attend events held at different locations from North to South - sometimes going beyond the reach of the mass transportation system called MRT and LRT. They will hop on jeepneys, taxis, tricycles and pedicabs just to be there.
The passion to write is what drives bloggers to become resourceful, aggressive and creative. Reasons may vary a little but the entirety of bloggers find joy in being among the first to try out new products, learn about new things, and dine on sumptuous cuisines that the common people would not be able to gain access to.
An example is our foodie bloggers event at Skippy's Bar and Grill. The invitation to experience Australia at this restaurant was an overwhelming moment that would forever become a cherished part of our lives. Skippy's Bar and Grill is an Australian Sports bar and Steak Restaurant located in the Philippines! First branch: The Forum, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig specifically at Federacion Drive corner 7th Avenue after 26th Avenue.
Ripe Mango Shake (PHP 130) |
Enjoy fresh fruit shakes at Skippy's Bar and Grill like ripe mango topped with a cherry. They actually have an assortment of liquors and other drinks available like beers, vodkas, tequilas, cognacs, mojitos and martinis and a lot more to choose from. This place is truly the drinkers' heaven. Since it was lunch time and was too early to get drunk, also because I have two other events to attend to afterwards, I settled for non-alcoholic drinks.
Big Pancake - A breakfast staple! Light, fluffy but filling pancakes drizzled with maple syrup and butter (PHP 190) |
These thick fluppy Big Pancakes were irresistable especially when they presented it in such a way that it resembles the Sydney Opera House of Australia.
A Big Breakfast to please a big appetite may just be the right meal you're looking for to satisfy your craving ... and its available at Skippy's Bar and Grill all day. The hash brown, longganisa, bacon, eggs, and beans will make you day even brighter.
Potato Scallops - Potatoes coated in crispy, crunchy batter. Good enough to be a meal in itself (PHP 165) |
Great to dine on these perfect-for-all-occasions Potato Scallops starters that will surely perk up your day ...and tummy...feeling well and happily bloated.
We called it the leaning burger of Skippy's since the towering Aussie Burger concoction was already lopsided due to its enormous height composed of my favorite ingredients.
Dim Sims - Australia's popular snack, Chinese-inspired meat dumpling-style snack food imported from Down Under (PHP 250) |
The Dim Sims combi meat and veggies that make up the dish is great and filling enough that you are sure to be smiling from ear to ear.
Pizza choices at Skippy's Bar and Grill was also highly recommendable. They have these thin crust specialties that are really great to munch while watching TV. The Lot Pizza was overwhelming with my toppings that it's so hard to resist.
Ham & Pineapple Pizza - Skippy's second best-seller! Classic pineapple and ham with oozing mozzarella and cheddar cheese! (PHP 350) |
My favorite Ham and Pineapple-topped Hawaiian pizza was made even more special at Skippy's Bar and Grill. You will ask for more of this pizza after just one slice.
Shepherd's Pie - An Aussie comfort food! Mashed potato with ground lamb mixture filled with melted cheese. (PHP 450) |
The Shepherd's Pie was something familiar yet new for the taste was pretty exciting and sensational. There is something sensational about lamb and cheese mixed with mashed potato.
The Seafood Marinara pasta was so remarkable that I wouldn't mind having a second serving....that is..if I was not so full already. You will love it from the first bite to the last.
Fish & Chips - A well-loved staple in pubs! Battered fish deep-fried to perfection with crispy fries on the side. (PHP 450) |
Fish and (potato) Chips brings out the best possible taste when squeezed with the lemon and dipped in the accompanying condiments.
We need the meat from the Roast Lamb to power us up to do more, and we appreciate it when the meat is well-seasoned and flavored to perfection. The side condiments also enhances the flavors to make it more heavenly satisfying.
The Rib-Eye Steak is a huge slab of meat accompanied by vegetables and potatoes looks so heavy already in the eyes that it's ideal for sharing.
Sisig - Skippy's own rendition of the Filipino's ultimate staple food paired with beer. It tastes good when served with rice, too! (PHP 380) |
Sisig has always been a favorite everywhere I go but there is something really special about the one at Skippy's Bar and Grill.
Skippy's Spare Ribs - Fall-off-the-bones ribs packed full of flavor. Served with mashed potato and coleslaw (PHP 750) |
Tasty Skippy's Spare Ribs that might make you stop on your promised diet and call the day a "cheat day"
Skippy's Cheese Cake - A perfect ending to an Au-some feast! Melts in your mouth cheesecake leaving you coming for more (PHP 150) |
Just the right amount of sweetness is perfect for a Skippy's Cheese Cake dessert that will please the taste buds.
Thank you to the husband and wife team for bringing Skippy's Bar and Grill here in the Philippines for us to enjoy. Thank you for having us at your awesome bar, Ms.Tina and Mr. Steve, and of course Ms.Gela (not in the photo).
Bloggers go gaga over the great food served that we had to hurry up taking the photos before our food gets cold. There is nothing better than a hot meal served fresh and still oozing with flavors.
Each and everyone of us has a unique taste so food blogging is quite a controversial for reviews may vary from one restaurant to another depending on the blogger. I, in particular, is biased on eating seafood but still appreciate the other meats like beef, pork and chicken. I have a soft side for the sweet desserts but I do like to experience a variety of ingredients thrown into one concoction.
What is awesome is that I always find something great about the food even though they may not become a favorite or first choice. Aside from the taste, we also have to consider the ambiance, the service, the price and the quality of the ingredients that made up the dishes served to us.
All of these factors are essential to come up with your preferred restaurant where you would enjoy dining with your friends, colleagues or loved ones.
Skippy's Bar and Grill made it to a significant score that it will now be one of my recommended restaurants that serves great food while you watch your favorite sports on their TV screens. The opportunity also to share the experience with newly acquired acquaintances that were also there to watch the game or dine on their food would also be priceless.
