Eat Out Manila: Redefining Dining Out Experience in Manila
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Don't you just hate it when you are having a hard time setting up a reservation at any of those prime restaurants in the Metro. A phone call will normally not be convenient since there seems to be no one answering the phone at the other end....and when you do get connected, the reservation often gets lost in the communication due to human errors.
This is probably why most of the manual work these days are being automated by several means, including the development of mobile apps that are accessible via our smartphones. Everything seems to be having a mobile app version to ease the pain of going through the normal transactions.
Relevant to this, a premiere online restaurant reservations or booking service app was launched last August 29, 2014 at Rambla restaurant in Rockwell, Makati. Wazzup Pilipinas was fortunate to be invited to witness the launch of Eat Out Manila, and at the same time get to dine on superb dishes offered at Rambla, a Spanish-Mediterranean restaurant that offers world-class cuisines. Rambla has been a favorite of mine ever since it opened a few months ago, and I was happy to attend an event at the said venue so I could experience Rambla's food once again..
The Eat Out Manila app offers a brand new experience of dining out in Metro Manila. The app was based on an internationally-recognized restaurant reservations system that is extensively used in Europe, US and Asia. Eat Out Manila is a smartphone application, now available only o iOS, which is also accessible via its web-based interface EatOutManila.com. The app offers a real-time experience that allows users to lock in a table at the restaurant of their choice – anytime and anywhere.
Catering to a large demographic of customers, Eat Out Manila has already tied up with various restaurants around the Metro, counting new establishments such as Rambla, Lulu, Vyne, The Glass Door and Las Flores among its growing list of sought-after restaurants, along with long-time favorites Abe, Crisostomo, Mango Tree, and Murray and D’Vine
Recognizing the challenges of booking a restaurant table where one has to pick up the phone on one hand, and the restaurant, at the receiving end, has to keep a manual log of reservations, the founders came up with Eat Out Manila to offer a quick and easy way of getting things done.
“The motivation behind this app springs from personal experience. With the growing list of things you can do remotely through your mobile phone, we thought it’s about time we had something for table reservations from which a food-loving country such as the Philippines will greatly benefit,” said Iňaki Lamata, one of the founders of Eat Out Manila.
“On the side of the restaurants, we are providing them with a better way of managing restaurant reservations and ensuring the convenience of their clientele. Our aim is to be a major solutions provider and partner in the ever growing and dynamic restaurant culture in the Philippines,” added Lamata.
Initially available through the Apple iTunes store, Eat Out Manila allows its users to search for restaurants with a variation of filters such as cuisine and location, restaurant, or by any cuisine, menu type or price range. Preferred time, date and number of persons are also required to check the availability at the chosen restaurant. Users can register via providing their details or logging in via Facebook. Users also have the option of accessing Eat Out Manila via its web-based interface at www.eatoutmanila.com.
Aside from hassle-free table reservations, Eat Out Manila also offers exclusive deals to its valued app users. Discounts, gift certificates, and freebies from top-notch restaurants await the lucky foodies who will be booking a reservation at any of Eat Out Manila’s partner establishments.
Foodies can now ditch the long lines and hours of waiting outside restaurants by booking a table at their preferred time and date, or on any of the available slots instantly. They may start their restaurant booking adventure now by visiting www.eatoutmanila.com or downloading the app from the iTunes store. Updates on the latest Eat Out Manila promos may also be seen in its official Facebook page and Instagram account @EatOutManilaPH.
