Wazzup Pilipinas!
Math is undoubtedly the meanest subject in school where many of our students are having difficulty of learning. Even adults cringe at the thought of having to solve math problems for their kids. It seems all those numbers keep jumbling up like crazy every time we are faced with the dilemma of solving a math problem.
Singapore children had an advantage having an online portal that was very useful in learning math the fun and easy way. Now, the Philippines is also fortunate that the people behind the project has also decided to launch it in our country.
The launch of Koobits Pte. Ltd. Singapore was held last July 15, 2014, Tuesday, 10 am at the Nostalg Ballroom of Oakwood Premier Joy-Nostalg Center located at 17 ADB Ave, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
Multi-awarded speaker Mr. Stanley Han, author of the book Motivation Dynamics: From Gaming to Learning and Chief Executive Officer of Koobits Pte. Ltd. Singapore, led the launch of Singapore's top online math portal here in the Philippines.
With special guest celebrity G Toengi-Walters, KooBits Brand Ambassador, participating in the panel that were interviewed by the members of the press.
A great thing about Koobits is that children are able to learn even in the comfort of their homes and guided by their parents, or in school supervised by their teacher. The portal introduces to kids the fun way of learning math without straying away form the real way to solve a math problem.
The application is user-friendly and has very pleasing design layouts and quite a number of cute and adorable characters that become your friendly assistants in exploring the many wonderful parts of the learning experience.
Educational services provider Explorarium Company Ltd., brought in Stanley han to explain how games have become so addicting for children, and how the same concept was used to attract their attention in Koobits.
Philippine educators from both private and public institutions, and other stakeholders were present to listen and learn at the event. Now we learn how to embrace technology in our studies which was expected to eventually happen due to the proliferation of many portable mobile devices like smartphones and tablets that are mostly connected now to the Internet using a data plan from a telecom provider, or connecting online for free using the many Wi-Fi Internet connections available in many restaurants, and other establishments.
We're trying to work through it all so he can live naturally and consciously, but he's now homeschooled, and I'm on my own to teach him. As a consequence, I came upon this math for kids website - www.paloalto-math-tutor.com, which includes a lot of interesting activities. Reading what people write here and learning something new every day for themselves seems interesting to me. Now I'm free to unwind.
