Las Flores Levels Up Their Menu to a More Sumptuous Version

Wazzup Pilipinas!

There's this contemporary Spanish restaurant and cocktail bar at Bonifacio Global City that has leveled up the dining experience by offering a more sumptuous menu version number 2. I can fully support that statement with proof by showing you a photo of what's left in our table after a great lunch treat. Left-overs will also soon be out of your vocabulary if you will frequent the place.

It is very rare that we end up eating everything up in just a couple of hours. We would normally have a dish or two that we won't like and leave it barely untouched. But there was a huge difference at Las Flores (The Flowers). I would know because it's my second time there. I was also there last year when we tried out their dishes and just like now, we left nothing for the doggie bag.

Las Flores offers modern Spanish dishes that were creatively fashioned to entice all senses. Even their cocktails and other liquor mixes are works of art that are totally satisfying that you wouldn't want to waste a drop. They have lots of dishes to serve you until you're all bloated and feeling good about your decision that you chose to dine in this heavenly place.

The restaurant opened last 2012 and now after two years, they've decided to introduce a new menu 2.0 where the best-sellers are still there mixed with newer ones that the owners hope their customers will also love. Like I said, we already had an opportunity to try the restaurant last year, and now we are more than glad we've come back to experience culinary excellence once again.

The contemporary interiors with ceiling lamps and chandeliers that look like those used in industrial plants are very interesting to look at and Instagram worthy to be posted online even without any filters. The over-all appearance and decor of the restaurant like the flower bus, the popcorn maker, and their new menu are creatively fascinating enough to be conversational pieces.

The cuisine served in Las Flores is Spanish with a clear Catalan-Mediterranean influence. The owners originated from Cataluna, Spain so you would really feel the distinct heritage in their menu. Last year's menu was a gastronomic delight already, now we were introduced to a new set that sent our taste buds almost swooning for more.

Las Flores Tartar De Atun (P 395)
Among the highly recommended cold dishes was the Tartar De Atun (P395). It had a very delicate taste brought about by selected ingredients that are of real quality and freshness. The dish is composed of tuna tartar with pickles, capers, crispy onion, calamansi mayonnaise, and with a raw egg on top.I must say we started the day with something really new for me. The presentation was way above awesome.

Salmon and Salmon (P595)
The Salmon and Salmon (P595) was a mouthful. It was very hard to resist having a few more. It was a good thing we were all fast in getting a piece because I would have hoarded it all for myself. Lol! Las Flores serves this very fresh that you'll notice it based on the taste of the salmon. This dish is composed of smoked salmon, salmon caviar, ricotta cheese, truffle oil, vinaigrette and crispy bread.

Chorizo Iberico (P 315 per 50 gr)

Jamon Iberico (P 990 per gr)

The Chorizo Iberico (P 315 per 50 gr) and Jamon Iberico (P 990 per gr) were both bestsellers to all of us.  They were pleasingly cooked just right that you will surely come back for more. The accompanying bread, laden with fresh crushed tomatoes, was a favorite of mine that magnificently matches with the jamon and chorizo.

Parrillada de Verduras con Salsa Romesco (P 475)

Parrillada de Verduras con Salsa Romesco sauce

The Parrillada de Verduras con Salsa Romesco (P 475) was a mixture of green asparagus, eggplant, shitake mushrooms, red bell pepper, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, marbled potatoes, whole garlic, and white onion. It comes with a sauce that really made this ensalada a healthy but yummy treat.

Mousse de Foie con Mango (P 325)

The sweet and tasty Mousse de Foie con Mango (P 325) may very well be a dessert concoction but it's categorized under Tapas Frias cold dishes. It's made up of  foie mousse, mango jam, arugula, caramelized, pine nuts, crispy bread. It doesn't only taste well, it looks like a sculpted artwork that too good to destroy for personal consumption.

I will never get bored with dishes like the Gambas al Ajillo (P 395). The spicy garlic fried shrimps in olive oil was my number one favorite here at Las Flores. Noit just because I love seafood, but because the shrimps were undeniably fresh and perfectly cooked.

Croquetas de Chorizo
The Croquetas de Chorizo (P 215) is another great way to use potatoes in dishes. You can gamble a wager with anybody that these are among the best croquetas around.

Huevos Estrallados with Chorizo (P 245)

The Huevos Estrallados with Chorizo (P 245) comes with fried eggs, fries, and of course...Spanish chorizo. It was such a simple dish to prepare but you can taste its distinct difference from its counterpart from other Spanish restaurants.

Angus and Foie Minis (P 825)

The Angus and Foie Minis (P 825) will be difficult to beat. They are delicious Australian beef tenderloin topped with foie and caramelized apples. It's a bit bigger than bite-size but truly enough to make you drool for more.

Secreto Iberico (P 995)

Secreto Iberico (P 995) are Iberian pork secret served with chickpeas sauce and basil, plus extra virgin olive oil. It was called "secret" because the farmers used to keep it for themselves as a secret among them. Every piece of this menu will make you swoon into delight. You'll be totally satisfied with even every bit of chickpea and the yummy sauce that I wanted to scoop with a bread for being oh so good!

Paella de Marisco DO Barcelona #21
Paella de Marisco DO Barcelona #21 (P 1895) with prawns, octopus, scallops, mussels and clams or otherwise known as Seafood Paella for many. But what makes the one at Las Flores different was it was all tasty even all through the bottom of the big pan where the rice are. All the ingredients were tender and perfectly cooked.

Chocolatisimo (P 195)
The dreamy Chocolatisimo (P 195) is chocolate fondant with strawberry jam and white chocolate ice cream topped with caramel. This is for me the best dessert among the four that were served to us.

Churros con Chocolate (P 195)
Churros con Chocolate (P 195) - Spanish crispy fried dough with warm chocolate and vanilla ice cream is another great combination that you will surely love. I've had a similar one at their other restaurant in Rockwell called Rambla which by the way serve equally satisfying dishes hat will blow your mind.

Flan de Arandanos con Nata (P 275)
Flan de Arandanos con Nata (P 275) is composed of blackberries on top of egg flan with cream. Apparently, Las Flores is not only good with their dishes but also with their desserts

Pastel de Manzana Asada al Horno (P 275)

Pastel de Manzana Asada al Horno (P 275) is apple cake with freshly baked apple slices that will take your breath away. This concoction may actually become my next favorite to chocolate-based desserts.

Of course, the dining experience is never complete if you don't match it with great drinks, especially their amazing cocktails. You will be overwhelmed with the many choices that will seriously captivate your heart. I sampled a few of them while the rest of my friends drank the rest, and you have to believe us when we say you'll be overjoyed as well. They are casual drinks with just the right amount of kick to make your day brighter than ever.

The owners of Las Flores namely Sergei Rostoll, Dani Aliaga and Uri Singla must be very proud of their restaurant, including Rambla - the newest one that they've setup in Rockwell where I also had the opportunity to sample some of their cuisines. I was among their friends who tried their Brunch menu during a special gathering, and Wow! I was lucky to have been part of that day.

I've read from an online publication that "Aliaga handles the marketing and PR, Singla handles the business itself, while Rostoll travels to learn more about food and help conceptualize the menu, especially the restaurants’ drinks lists." With that info, it seems they already have a great partnership with particular assignments and specialties that keeps them busy to continue improving on their two restaurants and who knows ..maybe more soon. These guys are young and obviously adventurous and risk-takers so it will not be surprising if you hear about a third one happening after another year. They have so many bright ideas that it may require more restaurants to showcase them.

Congratulations to the three, especially to Uri who was always the one responsible in inviting me to this wonderful food tasting events of their restaurant. My friends and I enjoyed the awesome lunch treat filled with superb dishes from master Chef Pepe Lopez' kitchen.

Visit them soon while they haven't thought of menu 3.0 and be among the proud diners who savored their dishes starting from the very first menu. Please see below for contact details.
