The
Gilas Pilipinas national basketball team has found a new ally in
Max's Restaurant. The restaurant chain formally forged a partnership with the Nationals at the Max's Restaurant branch located at 21 Scout Tuazon Street, Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City.

Mark Gamboa represented Max's Restaurant, while Coach
Chot Reyes and players
Jimmy Alapag, Jayson Castro, Ranidel De Ocampo, Larry Fonacier, Junemar Fajardo, Marc Pingris, and
Jared Dillinger came for
Gilas Pilipinas.
According to the multi-titled PBA coach, talks about the partnership began when he was invited to speak in front of the Max's restaurant managers and franchise partners. More meetings happened, and the team-up was sealed soon afterwards.

The Gilas Pilipinas were surprised that Max's Restaurant brought their families to the celebration. The Gilas Pilipinas team members were having mixed emotions especially after they were shown a video containing greetings and congratulatory remarks from their families whom all suddenly came out to join them.

Signing of contract to formalize the partnership |
Reyes and Gamboa signed a deal that formalized the partnership of Gilas Pilipinas and Max's Restaurant. In an exchange of tokens, Salud handed VIP cards and copies of the book about Max's Restaurant's history to Coach Chot and his players, while Reyes gave her a basketball with the signatures of all the Gilas players in it.

A poster was also revealed for the first time which was followed by numerous confettis and then a celebrational toast from Max's Restaurant and Gilas Pilipinas.
"Max's Restaurant and Gilas Pilipinas are very similar to each other because they are families," Reyes said on the new tie-up.
