Michael Christian Martinez: A Heroes Welcome to the Lone Filipino Figure Skater at the Sochi Winter Olympics
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Michael Christian Martinez, the Philippines' lone figure skater at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, arrived in Manila Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2014.
Welcome home Michael Christian Martinez, Filipino Figure Skater-Road to Olympics 2014. You made Filipinos raise up to the level of competitiveness in figure skating although we don't have winter here in the Philippines. Nung umalis wala man lang suportang naghatid.. Nung bumalik, dami nang sumalubong at mga nagtiyaga pang maghintay....That is life here in the Philippines! You get noticed and eventual support only when you have gained International recognition.
Republic of SM!!!My heart goes out to his mom who unconditionally supported his son to reach his dream of becoming the first figure skater Olympian of our country the Philippines. The FIRST! His son made history and he will be in the record books forever. Our country should welcome him with honor and respect. This is what we need as role models for our countrymen!
You went to Sochi with little support from the government. I hope the $10,000 money from business tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan (MVP) will be enough for your parents to pay off your house and lot from the bank to help finance your Olympic dream. You are our champion even though you only brought home a 19th place honor.Mabuhay ka Michael!! Salamat sa pagbibigay mo ng karangalan sa ating bansa!! Ipinagmamalaki ka namin. One step at a time to reach your goal son. Just like our Olympian Patrick Chan who only won a Silver medal. Hindi mo man naiuwi ang gintong medalya, ikaw pa rin ang kampeon ng Pilipinas sa Olimpiyada ng Taglamig!!
We are really proud of you.Your effort and showmanship in the Sochi winter Olympics really deserves a heroes welcome and praise.Thank you Michael and good luck to the next Olympic game in South Korea. I'm pretty sure next time around ...you'll be bringing home the bacon. Hope to see you again in South Korea for the next winter Olympics.
Congratulations and Good luck always!

The article was nice and it was great that many people are willing to elevate the status of Philippines. Not only in terms of economic also in other aspects like sports and many more. keep up the good work specially to Michael who really raised the name of our country.
ReplyDeleteThe article is very interesting and well written. Keep up the good work. And congratulations! Michael.and good luck for the next Olympic game.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more in this article. It is true that competitors like Michael didn't receive any support from any Filipinos unless he will be known internationally. That is the same thing for me, who rarely pays attention to what's happening around us but I feel great that I watched Michael and realized how important it is to support people like him. Because he is the representative of the Philippines in that field. I wish him good luck and God bless in his next performance.
ReplyDeleteThe article is good and well-written. Congratulations to Michael Christian Martinez! He looked really graceful and beautiful during the Olympics. I wish I was there in SM to see him personally! Even though he only ranked 19th out of the 30 finalists, he deserves all the respect and honor we give him.
