Wazzup Pilipinas!
One faith... one love... one aim. Steps that will make other lives change. Strengthened by one faith, bounded by unity, brethren from all parts of the world. Our brethren all gather, willing and ready to help those affected by the Typhoon Haiyan. "We walk so they can stand".
The Iglesia Ni Cristo is having a fund raising "Worldwide Walk" today, February 15,2014, for the victims of Yolanda typhoon, event located from CCP Complex towards Roxas Boulevard.
It's amazing how the brethren have been united again as one. Brethren from over 13 Ecclesiastical districts here in and around Metro Manila, Philippines joined together for the Worldwide Walk for those affected by typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).Despite the early departure in their own locale congregations, brethren are very thrilled by the thought that they will be able to help the victims of the typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) by participating in the Worldwide Walk that is being held not only in Manila, Philippines but all over the world. This is definitely a lot of fun!
Participants eagerly showed up at the CCP Complex, the starting line for the Worldwide Walk, which is presently taking place in Metro Manila.
At exactly 7:00 am, headed by the District Supervising Minister of Quezon West, Bro. Jeremias D. Mendoza Jr. along with the district and congregational ministers and brethren, started the walk with the theme “Let’s Walk, So They Can Stand!”
Whole families partook in the Walk for charity event that at present still goes on up to this time. Mommies, daddies and babies from all walks of life can be seen taking small steps towards more to share for the Yolanda victims.
Brother Glicerio Santos, Jr. also joined the Iglesia Ni Cristo Worldwide Walk for Typhoon Haiyan - Yolanda victims. At the finish line, a representative from Guinness Book of World Records witnessed the dropping of his wrist band as one of the participants who finished the race.
Many brethren have already reached the finish line and put their wristband on the box designated at the end point. They achieved the incredible feat of walking the circumference from CCP Complex to Roxas Boulevard, Luneta Area for the INC Worldwide Walk.
Waving for victory... Even when tired, our brethren keep on smiling and putting their best thumbs up while walking going towards the finish line to be counted among those whose hearts are golden and for a world record for Guinness.
Heavy traffic was expected throughout the city of Manila and here are the closed roads for your guidance:
• Roxas Boulevard: north and south bound lanes from Buendia to Anda Circle
• P. Burgos: east and west bound lanes from Palacio Street to Roxas Boulevard
• TM Kalaw: east and west bound land from MH del Pilar to Roxas Boulebard
