How to Create Meaningful Personal Brands at the Mad World Selfie
Wazzup Pilipinas!
What can I say to amaze you? The speakers at the Mad World Selfie event focused on How to Create Meaningful Personal Brands of the Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA) were all damn spectacular showmen, the more than 4,000 audience were all enigmatically thrilled and hooked on listening, and the learning gained from the event were beyond the ordinary! The PJMA is a professional student-managed national organization devoted to create venues for young marketers all over the Philippines to excel through opportunities that will enhance their knowledge and experience. It is the national federation of all Junior Marketing Associations (JMAs) and notably, the official youth affiliate of the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA).
Last February 2, the PJMA, along with Havas Media Ortega, held the Mad World event for 2014 entitled "Selfie" How to Create Meaningful Personal Brands at the SMX Convention Center Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
Got a VIP pass at the Philippines Junior Marketing event where I expect to learn a few more tips on how to improve my personal branding!
As one blogger previously said "Personal branding is not limited for those in the field of advertising and marketing because it also involves your image as a person, student, employee and even as a boss."
We are here to listen to the best among the big names in Marketing and Advertising in the Philippines. They were invited to help us transform from ordinary to extraordinary!
The halls of the SMX Convention Center were filled to the brim with a total number of participants reaching more than 4000 students from various colleges and universities all over the country.
Our adorable host, Bea Fabregas, delighted the audience with her zany introduction to the event. She surely made us giggle listening to her charming and crowd-pleasing antics.
Paul John Pena, Head of Integration and Marketing Communication from Globe Telecom was the first one to arouse the interest of the audience with his own way of branding personification. he clearly pointed out ways to personally excel in your endeavor to get notice. He emphasized on making sure you don't have drunken photos scattered online and try Googling yourself to see if you have a pleasing personality online. I should have asked him about the Fair Usage Policy but I was polite not to take the limelight away from him. His very useful camera accessories are really useful for "selfie" addicts who wants to go forth another level! After all, "Selfies" are here to stay!
Nomer Lasala, Business Development Officer of Intellicare / Mind Master was surprisingly effective as an entertainer. He may lack in timing with his jokes and punchlines, but he sure caught our attention with his mind-boggling tricks complete with audience participation. He mesmerized the audience with his uncanny ability to read minds (for real?). To be bold, to bungle (fail) and to believe will bring you good luck in personal branding! We definitely got psyched up and the hitched got bonded a lot more stronger and than ever.
Dra. Vicki Bello, CEO & Medical Director of Belo Medical Group is too good onstage as she is on television. Who doesn't know the famous doctor of celebrities? She's sensationally beautified the afternoon with her inspiring thoughts and pointers. Since the college students attending the events apparently would require her services if ever they would like to pursue a more physically elevated achievement, the ideas learned from her also prettified their minds.
Tony Sarmiento, Managing Partner & Chief Collaborator of Havas Media Ortega also paved the way to a more revolutionary way of branding. Not to be outdone to share relevant insights on what he believes in. The audience are lucky to be getting this much information coming form the experts themselves who eat branding excellence for breakfast.
I was fortunate to be a part of this event as Wazzup Pilipinas was an online media partner of Mad World Selfie. Too bad I was the only one who attended the event in behalf of our blog. Others could have benefited a lot and enjoyed the day filled with laughter, prizes and mind-blowing ideas!
Selfies are here to stay and rule the online world! We should however take responsibility in managing how it can be to our advantage on the way to a more fruitful usage leading to nothing but success for ourselves.
