Da Who of Social Media: Intriguing Facts Revealed Online?
Wazzup Pilipinas!
As what one netizen once said "Yesteryear's issues pale in comparison to what we have today."
Ironically one would post "Kung may "kaaway" ka, dapat yung away sa inyong dalawa lang. Hindi yung mandadamay ka pa ng ibang taong wala namang kinalaman sa gulo nyo. Unless may sumawsaw in your defense, otherwise keep other people out of it. Of course you can always go to your friends for sympathy. Your truest friends can advise you kung nasa tama ka ba o mali."
But why constantly rant online about other people and entertain comments from friends who would either make the matter worst by adding further insults and side-topics against the person in discussion, or exaggerate to the extreme claiming the person is making it look bad for the entire community. Wow! Is the accused that influential to claim responsibility for all? Does he represent all his peers from the same industry? It's like telling everyone that a mistake of one is the downfall of many.
You are going against what you were saying. You are sharing the news with the rest of the world and social media has a way of making rumors go viral especially when your online friends are rumor-mongers like you. Don't you understand that social media may be the best for crowd-sourcing but it is also the most effective way to make or break a reputation.....not only of the person you are humiliating, but also of yourself.
Those who rant online against others when they haven't tried to air their concerns directly to the person(s) involved are not trying to make the world a better place. They are making it a living hell!
"Talagang may sasawsaw kapag may sawsawan kang inilatag sa kanilang harapan!" - an invitation to make matters worst.
If you just want to converse with a few close friends, then message them directly.
Da Who is the more familiar question of introducing disgusting blind items, and sensationally brave are those that would give hints, and a hard knock on the head for those who would blatantly name the person.
When you broadcast to the world how you perceive a certain person, then you are already tainting his reputation without giving the others a chance to get to know him. What is more saddening is if you are trying to make him look bad when you haven't even worked with the person directly.
That makes your declarations highly unreliable especially if you've just read about the issues against the person from the rants of others. We all know there are two sides of every story, and you're a definite loser if you can easily be influenced by simply a rumor you have not personally witnessed.
People will never be perfectly moral and righteous all the time. Everyone make mistakes not only once, but maybe more than the number of your fingers and toes combined. But you shouldn't be counting in the first place. We should only highlight the best assets of a person, and accept their shortcomings.
Everything is supposed to be awesome online but a certain few are using social media to make the world look like a smorgasbord of evil! There are a lot more great things in the world, why do we focus more on and sensationalize the negatives?
Only the most miserable kind of news gets delivered wildly all over social media, and you would rarely see any news about one's great accomplishments if he is not backed up by a big brand or group.
Thus we all know why the seemingly gory issues goes viral, there are "evil" forces conniving behind it. Groups who's only intention is to harvest hatred among its members against what they package as a common enemy. To those spreading rumors against people, instead of the question "Da Who?", we should return to them the exclamation "Da Mu Who!" as in "damuho".
Social media has both good and bad points - no one can argue with that. It's up to us which we want to emerge on top.
You hit nail on d head! may your tribe increase..
