When we say role model, it is someone you admire or try to emulate. Your role model is someone you appreciate for their character. He inspires you to strive harder, give your best, and not give up.
The first thing that would pop in your head may be a sports figure; probably a political leader; most likely a celebrity or someone who made extraordinary actions. You could probably cite a few names of people you adore without batting an eye.
The image of role model affects the behaviour and way of thinking of a person. The person tries to imitate the personality of the ideal person on his perspective. To some people, his role model dictates his character.
Consider a celebrity for example. Despite having an angelic face, behind that smoke facade is a displeasing interior. A political leader? We all know about their scams and controversial issues drawn to them. We could hardly count these people as ideal role models.
It is indeed troublesome to look for someone whose values and aspects and habits you want to follow. But do we really need a single person to idolize? Do we need such things as role models? My answer is no. We, ourselves are the best role models to us. We must try to identify the characteristics, personality, values and aspects to we want to have. We should learn from the mistakes people around us. Let’s imitate all the positive actions they do and resolve to oneself their unfavourable demeanour. In that way, you would be the ideal role model, at least to yourself. And that’s what matters.
