Wazzup Pilipinas!
I met this stand up comedian at the Rob Schneider presscon and one-night show at Solaire Resorts and Casino in the Philippines. He did the hosting and front act for Rob along with other stand up comedians. What impressed me was the way he used his unfortunate little accident - a bleeding lip when it got hit by the microphone he struggled to pry loose from the microphone stand - to spice up his act and make it a little more interesting and real-life. Talk about a reality show!!!
Other performers would have felt the pain and stopped the show and probably asked for someone to take over while they cure themselves, but he was something else! Now, that is what I call a professional performer. He truly lived up to the saying that "The show must go on!"
There were two other stand up comedians as front act for Rob Schneider, and I am happy to say that all of these talents made us "laugh out loud!". Thus, I am very excited to bring you this great news.
Comedy Manila and Rocklands Entertainment present: United in Laughter, A Christmas Stand Up Comedy Special on December 9 at Cinema 5, Greenbelt 3.
"We're excited to do UNITED IN LAUGHTER because we get to showcase our own local Comedians. We want people to be just as excited for local Stand Up acts. We look to hold our own with Comedy when it comes to sharing the stage with foreign (stand up) comics." - Eri Neeman
Eri Neeman, one of the stand up comedians in the show, shared with me how he is also equally excited to showcase our local talents along with the foreign stand up comics form Malaysia.
Comedy Manila is a production house that was formed by host and comedian, Eri Neeman and Stand Up comedian, GB Labrador. Comedy Manila produces quality comedy shows featuring local and foreign acts and also organizes free Open Mic rooms for aspiring comedians to practice and to help them grow and find their voice as an artist.
The mission of Comedy Manila is to change and improve the quality of comedy in the country through Observational Stand Up Comedy. The group believes that it is time for our comedy audience in the Philippines to be able to experience a comedy show that is no tall about insults or toilet humor but a comedy show that showcases comedy as a performing art, featuring comedians that are funny and original.
Comedy Manila is in the forefront of the comedy revolution and it’s shaping the comedy scene in the country -one joke at a time.
