"A friend of mine contacted me earlier and told me that he saw a picture of mine posted on the website of Bonifacio Global City. I wasn't aware of any people from BGC that asked me if they could use my photos on their site. I checked their site and surprised to see that my "Tatakbo Ka Ba?" picture was used without my knowledge whatsoever. It is really undeniable that this is my shot that they have taken from my Flickr page that I posted last August 30, 2009. http://www.flickr.com/photos/nrmercado/3870203779/ Dear BGC, you cannot hire a photographer? Really?" - Neall MercadoJust helping share this disappointing act of the BGC official website of using a photo without any form of credit to the real owner.
Breaking news: 'pwede na kayong magshoot sa BGC basta ipagamit niyo lang ng walang bayad sa amin'-- BGC MgtWelcome to the Home of Passionate Minds that's soon to face a copyright infringement case! BGC, do you have a lawyer already? Why yes you do. But i guess you will just put it down from your site, right? You're better called the Home of Lazy and Unoriginal Minds.

Did they have my permission to use my photo in the first place? - Neall Mercado
Apparently, the BGC website is claiming ownership of the photo already...hehehe
It would be nice to find out if the owner of the photo will try to sue the BGC management or whoever was responsible in grabbing the photo, cropping it to intentionally remove the ownership, and posting it on their website.
As of this writing, the photo is still up on the BGC site...and I guess it will stay there until the holiday season since the site admins must still be on holiday break.
Good luck to both parties, may they all have a Happy New year
Its hard to comment here when both of the sides did not stated their own comment about the situation. But I just want to say that a person should be careful in getting pictures especially you are famous. And also if you were getting an information ir photo make sure that add credits to the source.
ReplyDeleteWe should avoid plagiarism. We should always give credit to those who really took the photos because they used effort just to take that shot. top photography in the Philippines
ReplyDeleteEverything was great at first, he was extremely attentive and considerate, I knew I was the centre of his world and that was a nice, secure feeling and I had strong feelings for him too. There were subtle signs that he was the kind of person who liked to have his way, but they weren’t hugely impacting me, especially since I still had my own life and only saw him a few times a week. philippines visa
