Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, the humanitarian arm of CBN Asia, has now served over 116,000 survivors of super typhoon Yolanda in its continued relief and rehabilitation efforts, medical missions, trauma counseling and listening ministry.

Partnering with different local and international organizations, Operation Blessing has successfully reached survivors in the remotest areas severely battered by Yolanda.

“In Samar, we have partnered with the La Salle group of medical practitioners composed of 12 doctors and eight nurses and together we did a medical mission in several remote villages. We have also complemented the efforts of the Israeli team which is doing its medical mission in Tacloban. We have also partnered with the DSWD in providing counseling sessions to the survivors as they struggle with their difficult situations. Our partner churches in Manila help us out in sorting used clothes for efficient distribution to the typhoon survivors,” said Dr. Kim Pascual, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Operation Blessing.

In Panay island , Operation Blessing has started loading pre-positioned items for relief operations in eight barangays in Caluya Island, Antique, to naval surveillance vessels. These items include 100 sacks of relief packs, 100 boxes of water and medicines. The vessel will sail from Roxas port with the Operation Blessing team, local volunteers, military personnel, the Canadian army and a team from the GMA Network.

Adding joy to the relief and rehabilitation mission is the film showing of the very popular animated Bible-based series Superbook as part of the Holiday of Hope and Cheer (HOHC) Program activities.

Healthcare services, which include free medical check-ups and medicines are also provided by the Operation Blessing team. In some areas, free eyeglasses were also given out.

“Our disaster response teams have been working hard to bring aid and hope to the affected communities in the Visayas provinces but there is still much work to be done. We are moved with love and compassion to reach out to the families who live in devastation now. We need to serve more affected communities,” Dr. Kim adds.To know more about Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, visit www.obphil.com or this pagehttp://obphil.com/v2/page/p/visayas-needs-your-help.
