Wazzup Pilipinas!
"Katniss Everdeen's world is a world of hunger and competition. In order to win the game, the fighters must focus on outdoing one another, enduring adversities, faking emotions and pleasing the crowd. It's a world where there is no place for authenticity and making friends within the battle arena is like sleeping beside an ax. There can only be one victor. While most fighters connived with the strong, the Girl on Fire chose befriended the weaklings. She always thought differently.
Thank you, Lions Gate, for burning money to bring to the world Catching Fire. Such a great reminder for us to know who the real enemy is when we get to the battle arena. Panem, after all, is not so different with the place we call Earth."- Mark Delgado
Hunger Games Catching Fire was shown in a special blocked screening last November 22, 2013 at Shang CinePlex Shangri-La Plaza, Ortigas Pasig City.
Wazzup Pilipinas, as an online media partner was given five (5) tickets. I invited four of my fellow educators to join me in the event so we had to leave early from work.
The movie was quite "omoshirokatta" interesting and very genteel. I fell in love with the movie especially because the plot has a touch of Greek mythology. Like the Greek epics, which have lots of gods' interventions, these leaders, acting like Greek gods and goddesses, seem happy and rejoicing while the people involved in the Hunger Games competition suffered from their manipulations.
The Hunger Games Catching Fire movie highlights a reality game which has a manipulator - the President and his companions, who seems to enjoy playing with the lives of the contestants. The story also doesn't end as it obviously has a lot more to share with the viewers as it continues in more movie sequels.
Wazzup Pilipinas is proud to be the online media partner of Great Events Plus special blocked screening of Hunger Games Catching Fire. You can see the logo on the movie ticket itself. A photo booth was also setup were everyone got an opportunity to bring home a souvenir photo of themselves....plus some light snacks and drinks, and a mini-raffle (check-under-the-seat-and-win-a-prize).
I was with my husband at the Thor The Dark World Digital 3D special blocked screening, also organized by Great Events Plus, last October....and will also be attending another special blocked screening of The Hobbit this December.
I will not spoil you with details of the movie, my dear readers. You better just watch the movie to know and experience the felicity that I felt before, during and after the movie.
What are you waiting for? Come and be "IN" with Hunger Games Catching Fire.
Sugokatta kedo ureshikatta desu.
