Wazzup Pilipinas!
Filipinos! If you’re planning to go to Japan anytime soon
then I’m sorry to announce that Filipinos still need to get a visa to visit the
Land of The Rising Sun.
The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines notified the public that Japan has not lifted the visa exemption for the Philippines yet. But worry not! Japan has opened multiple-entry Visas to Filipinos.
In celebration of the 40th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, the Government of Japan has decided to begin issuance from July 1, of multiple entry visas for short-term stay to nationals of the Republic of the Philippines (ordinary passport holders) who reside in their home country.

If you’re curious about what a multiple-entry visa means, multiple
entry visas are use for short-term stay for nationals of the Republic of the
Philippines (ordinary passport holders). It can be availed by those who have
fulfilled certain conditions and who have an ordinary Machine-Readable passport
(MRP) meeting International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards or an
ordinary IC passport.

However if you’re still not satisfied with getting a
multiple entry visa, you can get yourself a visa but to acquire one, Filipinos
who are interested in getting a visa to Japan should apply at the Japanese
embassy through accredited agencies. The Japanese embassy in the Philippines
does not accept direct visa applications.

Until now these are all the only options we have to travel to Japan
legally and we can just hope that later in the future, Japan would let us visit
their country without a visa.
