Wazzup Pilipinas!
About 150 children, mostly from marginalized communities, joined the Globe Football Para sa Bayan Mini Festival at the DLSU Zobel Globe Football Field in Ayala Alabang where they received training from key movers in the football scene led by Azkals Team Captain Chieffy Caligdong, Malditas, and Green Archers United who all want to assist disadvantaged youth through sports.
Majority of the participants belong to six football communities catering to disadvantaged children in Pasig, Mandaluyong, Tondo, Payatas as well as the kids of Muntinlupa Bilibid Prison inmates. The football communities include: GawadKalinga FC, Dream Big Pilipinas FA, Futkal FC, Payatas FC, Muntinlupa United FC, and PinayFutbol.
Caligdong who is also a Globe Ambassador, together with his Team Manager Monchu Garcia and teammates in Green Archers United, one of the most competitive teams in the United Football League, facilitated the drills and scrimmages. Also with them were members of the women's national football team, more commonly known as Malditas and teen varsity football players from La Salle Zobel and La Salle Greenhills.
Globe Football Para Sa Bayan Mini Fest was a soft launch and preview to the year-round football campaign of Globe in 2014 which will be composed of all partners working together to bring the program around the country to impact nation-building in a big way.
