Love is wonderful, isn’t it? It is good to know that, there are many people who are very interested when it comes to love. When I was in my junior high school, we talked about the love stories of different gods and goddesses in the Greek mythology. In my senior high school, I also have learned different kinds of love stories in the ancient Greek mythology.
Let me give you some of the love stories I have learned:
The love story of Thisbe and Pyramus, their love is like to Romeo and Juliet but they are not totally the same. The story of Thisbe and Pyramus, they were neighbors but their parents forbid the love that connects them together. The parents of the two lovers don’t allow them to see each other. They communicate to each other by the hole in the wall that separates their houses. Though their parents were against to their love for each other it is not a hindrance for them. They always set a place to meet. In this story, I can say it’s not a happy ending because at the end they both die together. It’s love, right? That’s the power of LOVE!
The great son of Apollo which is Orpheus fell in loved to a
nymph named Eurydice. They got married and they loved each other but for a
short period only. It’s because one day, Eurydice was wandering with nymphs and
was seen by a shepherd named Aristaeus who was struck to her beauty. She got
bitten by a snake on her foot and she died. The death of Eurydice was not a
hindrance for the love of Orpheus to Eurydice. Orpheus went down to the
underworld to go to Eurydice. Hades was impressed to Orpheus. In this love
story, I can say it’s not a happy ending also because Hades has the condition
that Orpheus must not look back for Eurydice to be back. He did not make it.
Love is unconditional. A sculptor named Pygmalion from the ancient Greek
made a statue and because of he really did it so well. He fell in loved to that
statue. He offered it to goddess Venus. He wants to have the statue to live in
the real life then Venus grant his wish. As the statue became real, he named it
Galatea. They got married and had a son. It’s great!
In the Greek goddess, Aphrodite is known for being the
fairest. Though she is known for that, she is still has the jealous of the
beauty of other girls. She sent her son for Psyche to be in love with the
ugliest person in the world. Eros did not make it because he was love in first
sight with the beauty of Psyche.
Love is really magical. It is full of different kinds of how
does people be in love with others. It is awesome to know about these lovely stories
of the Greek mythology. It’s very wonderful! Greek mythology is one of the best
things that I have learned in my junior and senior high school.

I really like reading about greek methology especially love story because of the personality of some characters.Every love story in greek methology is such an interesting story to read over and over again. :) Great Job! :)

I like reading greek love stories because the flow of it is plotted in a nice way that could catch the minds of the readers. I sometimes watch short films of it for me to understand it better by visualizing the scenes in my mind. I would like to thank the auhor of this article because it is written to make the readers to feel interested in reading greek literature like the greek love stories. 😉

I really love reading love stories, and one of my favorite greek love stories is the story of Pygmalion and Galatea. :)
