Watch out as Travel Foto Expo takes MANILA by storm!!! The TFE-Manila Leg will be held at The Block of SM North EDSA on October 1-5, 2013. The TFE-Mindanao will be held in Davao at the SMX Convention Center of SM Lanang Premier on October 11 to 13. This event is brought to you by Travel Foto Explorer!
Travel Foto Explorer is an organization of travel photographers who travel the world to document the scenic beauty of countries, explore the human spirit and embrace new cultures. Its vision is to tell the world extraordinary stories of humanity – as it is. No frills, no gloss, just a simple story, in a single photograph, of an often misunderstood and mysterious culture. After each trip we exhibit our photos for the world to feast on. This group is dedicated to Travel, Street and Landscape Photography enthusiasts.

Chito Vecina, president of Travel Foto Explorer; together with Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte; ABS-CBN vice president for news & internal affairs Charie Villa; publisher of i-Mag Photography magazine, Neil Garcia; Canon Philippines president Allan Chng, and SM Communications VP Millie Dizon will be at the opening of the event.
The exhibit willl have product displays, photo shoots and workshops conducted by different masters of photography. Workshops will be conducted by Nix Taytay (Basic Photography), Kyle Stanley, (Lightroom Techniques), Nelwin Uy (Wedding Destination), Ibarra Deri, (Portrait Photography), Mark Floro (Advertising Photography) and Raymond Cruz (Landscape Photography).
At the Expo the photo contest winners of “Beyond Travel Photography” People’s and Judges’ Choice will be awarded on Oct. 5. First place winner Robert Marrel Dela Vega under the People’s Choice category will be featured in i-Mag Photography magazine and Manila Bulletin’s “Picture Perfect” section. Robert Marrel Dela Vega will also be given a photo exhibit slot in the event and a 2TB Seagate External HD. Meanwhile second to fifth place winners Alberto Andone Jr., Melanio Mejarito, Ramon Jacktong and Raymund Silla, respectively, are also entitled to receive a photo exhibit slot that will be displayed all throughout the event. Under the Judges’ Choice award, first place winner was won by Orly Punzalan. Second to fifth place was won by Irvinne Redor, Sandra Ledesma, Lhor Santillan, Jun Garcia, Antonio Rojas, Lindy Barbosa and Winston Wayne, accordingly.

TFE KIT LENS PHOTO MARATHON AT THE BLOCK
“The 18-55mm Photo Challenge”
1. Open to all amateur/professional photographers with a DSLR and an 18-55mm kit lens (any brand). We will only accept 18-55mm lenses, other type of Kit Lenses with focal lengths other than the 18-55mm (eg. 18-70mm, 18-135mm, 18-200mm, 24-105mm) will not be allowed.
2. The Kit Lens Photo Marathon will be held on October 3, 2013 at the SM City North Edsa THE BLOCK.
3. Registration will be from 10am-3pm at the TFE Secretariat Booth. Upon registration, participants will be required to show their DSLR and Kit Lens. TFE Secretariat will then apply an official TFE Sticker duly signed by the TFE officer and will be applied in the camera mount area in between the lens and camera body; and the memory card slot cover of the camera body. This will show that the participant did not change his lens and memory card during the marathon. Tampered stickers during the competition will disqualify the participant. Participants will also have to format their memory cards in front of the secretariat officer to show that their memory card is fresh and has no previous photos that they may use for the competition. Participants will be given a TFE Sticker Tag that they must apply to their clothes which they must wear at all times while inside the mall premises. This will ensure the mall guards that they (participants) are shooting for the Photo event.
4. There will be two (2) themes in this Photo Marathon.
a) Food As Art – Food Photography using any food purchased from SM City North Edsa/The Block restaurants and food tenants as the main subject of their photograph.
b) Architecture and Interiors – Architectural and Interior Design photographs captured inside or within SM City North Edsa/The Block vicinity.
5. After registration, participants will be allowed to shoot and submit their entries until 4PM only. Afterwhich they must return to the TFE Secretariat booth to give their photo file entry for printing. Entries will be printed 4x6in by the TFE Secretariat and will serve as the participant’s official entry to the theme.
6. Participants can only submit one (1) entry per theme.
7. The printed entries will then be mounted for public display at the Activity Center area. Judging will be done every day at 5:00PM by the TFE Panel of Judges composed of guest photographers, speakers and SM Mall officials.
8. Winners will be announced within the event day. And will receive the following prizes:

1st Place – P7500 worth of SM GC
Theme 2: Architecture and Interiors
1st Place – P7500 worth of SM GC
9. Judges decision is final and unappealable.
