After an event in Ortigas, Pasig ended early at around 2 pm, I decided to go directly to a restaurant in Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City. The restaurant was the venue for another event where I was also invited and it scheduled at 6 pm. It was very inconvenient for me to go home and then out again with just a few hours to spend.
I was invited to an event that was primarily arranged due to a tie-up between Ristorante Bigoli and Zomato. Ristorante Bigoli is an Italian Restaurant with branches at Eastwood, Trinoma and SM Fairview while Zomato is an online restaurant guide which started in India and provides information on restaurant home deliveries, take-outs, cafes and nightlife in the cities of India, Brazil, New Zealand, the Philippines, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
Zomato has already partnered with several restaurants in the Philippines and invites foodies (both bloggers and non-bloggers) to submit restaurant reviews to their site. It has some ranking or points system where reviewers level up and get rewards.
I
was so early that I spent a few hours browsing the Internet using my
tablet. I always carry with me a portable WiFi Internet to allow me to
check my email even on the road.
When the Marketing Manager of Ristorante Bigoli learned that I was already there, he immediately approached me and we chatted for a while. He even gave me complimentary drinks (bottomless soft drinks) plus an order of Breadsticks to munch on while waiting.
It was greatly appreciated that he entertained me while I was all alone in the separate room to be used for the Zomato event.
A crew at the restaurant was also very courteous in attending to my needs and she even told me some interesting stories.

The Eastwood branch was warm and conducive for some delightful dining experience.
For starters, we
had their famous Breadstick, to which Dana was raving as one of her favourites.
The breadsticks were still hot when it was served, and true to Dana’s word,
they were really good. Dana already ate two breadsticks before we were able to
take pictures.
Our next appetizer was Rolled Pizza Stromboli with beef. Stromboli come in 3 variant, Bacon, Pepperoni and Ultimate Beef (using Kitayama Wagyu Beef).
After the sampler plate of Pasta, the Chicken Pasta Bigoli was served.
Next on the list
is the “Tour of Italy”, a sampler plate of Spaghetti Bolognese, Fettucini
Alfredo and Lasagna.
The next dish is
Arrosto Di Manzo, which is tender, Wagyu Beef served with mash potato and
steamed veggies.
Bistecca Macinata is Grilled Kitayama Wagyu Burger Patty
topped with cream and sliced mushrooms served
with mixed vegetables.
The last dish was
Italian Chicken, smothered in a special sauce of tomatoes, honey, and
Italian spices.
Before the event
was finished, we had a contest. We were grouped into pairs of two and
blindfolded. After which, two pizzas were served and we were asked to identify
the ingredients. I teamed up with Dana and luckily we won the contest as we
were able to identify the most number of ingredients.
Pizza Capricciosa
is freshly made dough smothered with sauce and cheese generously topped with
Mushroom, Black Olives, Zucchini, Sweet Ham, Italian Sausage, Salami
Milano and basil leaves.
Pizza Tropicale
is a fresh mix of vegetables and fruits, Tomato, Mushroom, Onion, Zucchini,
Black Olives and pineapple slices on pesto sauce.
