As today's "bombastic" generation exhibits, more and more people discover the utmost entertainment in reading, may it be a book, magazine, newspaper and the like. Because of this, websites such as Wattpad, Wordpress, and Blogspot are "skyrocketingly" popular nowadays.
Many stories are simultaneously published by the minute. In fact, in our very institution you'd never end a typical day without seeing a student with a recent book in hand.
Why? First and foremost, they say that a book can take you anywhere. It is your indefinite pass to the vast world called imagination, in the form of ink and paper. Each book is a trip to not only a faraway place but also in time and presence. It stimulates our minds into thinking that we are at that very situation and flip the succedding page to find out what happens next.
Second, it is somehow your way of learning. Another objective of stories is for the reader to learn through its unanimously familiar way of approaching the readers - by means of something that interests him or her. In this way, readers expand not only their imagination but also their vocabulary, logic, grammar and other areas of comprehension alike.
In addition, when reading, we take it that we always understand what we have read in order to proceed to the next pages, right? Otherwise, reading without understanding would be just a whirlwind tour - a quick and superficial tour without any time to observe details. This proves that we learn all kinds of things, perhaps unaware at times, when we read.
Third, you'll be able to share your own thoughts and ideas and converse with others. You can express yourself clearly and meet other people with common interests. Formulating your own and originally written story will be easier and more enjoyable - whether for a school requirement or just for fun.
These are just some of the reasons and advantages of reading. I also was once not that big of a reader but was amazed upon exploring the numerous stories made and shared by different people, and was able to visualize for myself the consecutive evnts and adventures each book brings me.
