Wazzup Pilipinas!
They say that we write our own life's story. That we are the only ones who can travel our own journey, make our own path, and achieve our own goals. But we, PaScian journalists of the year 2013 decided to take one path together : the path towards triumph.
Last August 19 , the Division Secondary Schools Press Conference (DSSPC) officially opened for the schools, private or public, with the aspiring student journalists. And of course , for our dearest Alma Matter, we did not allow that to pass. The hand picked students from grade seven to fourth year by Miss Riza Zuniga were united to represent the school for the said competition.
Because we barely knew each other, awkwardness was felt within our first meeting. And as our mentor said, her journalists are those who are silent. (well, I'm the exception, as well as Jeromir Bondoc ;D) So I thought that just like last year, the wall of silence will prevent us from being close friends. But, that assumption was proven wrong after some time.
As it all turned out, my colleagues are the craziest and most active people in school. And that trait, as our common denominator, bound us in a friendship that we never expected. As the competition goes, so as our happy experiences with each other. Along the way, winning have been forgotten as a goal,we did not care if we lose or win, because the journey is all worth it. But, I think PaScians are raised for excellency.
Many of us got an individual award for their assigned field. And as a whole, we ranked third place in the overall scoring.
As I said, More than the triumph, is the everlasting friendship.

Even though I wasn't able to support the journalism team in this competition, I am still proud of them for winning. This article teaches us a valuable lesson; that friendship is more important than anything else. Everything starts by being friends and the rest just follows. It also teaches us that to be successful you must also learn to make friends :)
