Wazzup Pilipinas!
17th day of September. Tanghalang PasigueƱo. Team Araw. Fourteen representatives, but only one goal.
I
can say that we’ve been practicing for so long. Too much things had
been sacrificed. Even in times of bad weather, we’ve all been together.
Yes, everything is tiring, but definitely it was all worth it; from the
practices, preparation, problems that just came up, everything.
That
day will always be memorable for me and I believe for all of us, not
just because that was my first real interpretative dance contest I
joined but also because the contest itself and the venue were absolutely
legit.
On
the contest proper, one thing I know is that I enjoyed every single
second that passed while we were performing. Every school, every
contestant prepared their own explosions for them to win. But only one
should win, luckily that’s us.“And the winner is… contestant number 6!
Pasig City Science High School!” the line we won’t forget, ever. And
honestly it took us how many days to recover and to relax ourselves from
too much bliss.
But it doesn’t end there. Sir Gabby
gave his trust to us once more. By letting us join another contest with
just 2 days of practice. And that is for real. We were close in giving
up. Our hopes our too low that On the contest proper, one thing I know
is that I enjoyed every single second that passed while we were
performing. Every school, every contestant prepared their own explosions
for them to win. But only one should win, and we can still make it, but
Sir Gabby never fails to boost our confidence, and it was a complete
success.
My partner and I joined the 2 dance, 3 dance, and open category. And happily we got 3 silver medals. We danced Waltz, Tango, and Quickstep. While the other representatives danced Cha-cha, Rumba and Jive.
I know that we can’t make it with just us alone, but with the help of Sir Gabby who never fails to guide us, our teachers who were there to help us in different ways, and our family and friends. And especially thanks to Him for making our dreams become a reality. And one thing is for sure, I will never forget this team that I consider as another family.
