  3. It is good to hear that women are getting known in our economy's progress. Because for me women greatly influences what our country or what will our country produces. But for me rice farming is a responsibility of men not a women. Well, it only shows the equality between men and women. The concept of whose masculine or feminine.

  9. Women, according to our country's culture and tradition, should stay at home. But as the modern era approaches, women of our society has gained their freedom to do anything they can to help their selves and their families. In the city, we can see many women exercising their rights and responsibilities, but these women are also needed in farming, because their diligence and industriousness can be likened to those of the men. And this step of IRRI is a good start in the upcoming movements of the government for the women.

And this article shows the hard work of women in field. That's why, they deserve this recognition given by the IRRI, and I think this will help them a lot.

  11. As a common food staple, rice is commonly overlooked. It is about time that we dedicate an event that commemorates the developments in rice farming. It also show that women are also intelligent and can make large contributions in the fields of science. I hope that they keep up the good work and continue making innovations.

  12. We should learn how to appreciate what we have. Rice is a major part of our lives. A meal is never complete without it. That is why I appreciate IRRI's initiative for this matter, because without these people we won't be able to consume rice. Farming is not an easy job to do especially for women. I am sending my gratitude to all farmers, even though I wasn't able to attend the event, I know I can still be able to thank them by not wasting what they worked hard for.

  13. Women deserve to be recognized. Aside from contributing a lot to the progress of our economy, it is not easy for woman to do the farming. But still, “what a man can do, a woman can do better”. :)

  14. Why are artisans richer that farmers? Farmers feed the artisans, who make items using raw materials from products also provided by farmers? Farmers are one of the most important men in the society. They provide us our food, as well as the raw products that artisans use in the creation of new products. It is only necessary to give them the importance and sympathy they deserve for their year-long hard work in the production of the food we eat. And judging by the article I just read, Philippines is starting to do just that...

  16. This shows that women are very versatile, showing that women can also do what men can do, but we women should think that we should bargain in something we can earn more. We should invest in something that makes our work more worth it, because rice farming is a risk taker. Farmers work really hard but has a very low income.

  22. Women nowadays excel in every field of community service. They are not just the mother of our house but also as a farmer with dedication to their work. So it was a good thing that IRRI did not forget to appreciate their hardwork for our country. But I think it will be a gift for them if IRRI at least give some money for their hardwork as a token for appreciation and hardwork because they also serve as one if the reasons why Philippines is ine of the countries in higher progress

Women like men has the capacity and ability to discover, invent technologies do research works that would contribute to the increase in the rice production.

  28. "Ang Magtanim Ay Di Biro" is one of the proofs that can testify that planting is never easy. Farmers, exerting all their efforts, must wait for months for the seeds to grow. They also rarely profited big money. With all of these, farmers' job will be much easier.
