Instant Mommy Stars Eugene Domingo : Movie Review

I have to hand it over to WazzupPilipinas.com for making me experience my first ever special screening of an indie film, Instant Mommy. The movie stars Eugene Domingo as Betchay, a breadwinner wardrobe assistant who is committed to her Japanese fiancee Kaoru (Yuki Matsuzaki) because she is pregnant with their child.

Yuri Matsuzaki stars in this comedy feature film Instant Mommy directed by Leo Abaya. He will be playing the lover of Betchay, the main character played by well-known Filipino comedienne Eugene Domingo.

Asia's Favorite Actress, Eugene Domingo, and Yuki Matsuzaki will be joined by Luis Alandy, Alchris Galura, Archie Alemania, Shamaine Buencamino, Matt Evans and Tuesday Vargas.

Mr. Matsuzaki's filmography impressed the films producers. His film credits include Letters to Iwo Jima, Last Samurai and Pirates of the Carribean.

Eugene Domingo proves that she deserved winning the Yahoo OMG! award for best comedienne. She is the main reason for the standing ovation the crowd gave the movie when it was over. Like other indie films, small roles are once again made famous by singer Rico J. Puno as Betchay's father and Earl Ignacio as one of her work mates.

In a hilarious turn of events, Betchay suffers a miscarriage and she realizes the only way to get everything back is to become an Instant Mommy. All the rest of the scenes of teh movie were hilarious - as expected from the talented Eugene Domingo who has stood out ever since she was still just a bit-player in her previous tele-serye stints.

This is one of those movies that proves indie movies are better than the mainstream ones. It was a great comedy that had me laughing out loud on several occasions. She went through several mishaps on trying to prove to Kaoru that she is indeed pregnant. All of them would end up involving an ex girlfriend of her brother, a secret lover and her gay best friend.

I recommend seeing this movie as it opens to theaters today August 28.
