7th International Silent Film Festival
Wazzup Pilipinas!
The International Silent Film Festival will be taking place from 23 to 25 August 2013 at the Shang Cineplex. The participating countries during this year’s 7th International Silent Film Festival are Germany, Italy, Japan, Philippines, Spain and United States of America.
The selected silent films represent a variety of genres, ranging from comedy, horror to fake documentary and including the usual drama. This year’s wide-ranging film genres offer a varied experience for all viewers of all ages.
All Movies from 23 - 25 August are free entry.
As in the previous years the silent films will be accompanied by young Philippine bands, playing different types of music. The live music, whether pop or folk, will give the silent films an instrumental voice, creating an extraordinary atmosphere for the audience.
What happens inside the cinema? "You sit inside Shang Cinema, a black and white film flashes on the screen but there is not dialogue, only facial expressions and gestures. A live local band or musician (legendary ones at that) perform in front of you to provide the live score for the entire film. Raw music and grainy films in harmony!" -Captain Slate
