Wazzup Pilipinas Joins the 8th Historical and Cultural Tour for Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Directors of the Philippines
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Delegates composed of Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Directors gather around the Taal Vista Hotel lobby entrance infront of the huge tarpoulin welcoming them to the second stop of the Department of Tourism's and Rajah Tours and Travels' Cultural and Historical Tour around the Metro and nearby cities like Cavite, Laguna and Tagaytay. This was last July 10, 2013 after their visited to historical Jose Rizal Shrine in Calamba, Laguna and Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite.
The event is the 8th run managed by Rajah Tours and Rajah Travels in partnership with the Department of Tourism. It is a week long event which started last July 9 and will end on July 12.
The tourist destinations chosen earlier in the tour were the former homes of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the Republic of the Philippines, and of Jose Rizal, the Philippines National Hero.
The town of Kawit in Cavite played an important role in the Philippine history. The proclamation of the Republic was made on the balcony of the home of General Emilio Aguinaldo in Kawit. The tour includes the interiors and garden of the shrine. A historical part of the tour.
Of course, who would want to miss the historical home of our National hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, of whom the country is very proud of. Rizal embodied the persona of non-violent but intellectual approach of expressing opinions and disagreement with society. He believed that the pen is mightier than the sword thus the results of books like El Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere.
The delegates were also welcomed with a festive dancing and rondalla providing a barrio fiesta atmosphere at the Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay. Everyone enjoyed the panoramic view of Taal Volcano while sipping on pineapple juice contained inside a pineapple itself. We then had our sumptuous buffet lunch at one of their function rooms where specialty dishes from Southern Tagalog region covering Laguna, Cavite, Batangas and Quezon were served. A cultural show was presented to highlight the tour while we all enjoyed feasting on the generous servings of food the hotel prepared for us. The dishes included lechon, kaldereta, and other popular Filipino dishes.
Lastly, we proceeded to Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City for cocktails. Solaire is the first to open in the highly anticipated Entertainment City project along the Philippine’s famed Manila Bay. The resort also features a world-class dining experience at our signature, casual and quick -serve restaurants. And to give you the ultimate Las Vegas gaming experience, Solaire’s expansive 18,500 square-meter casino area stretches two levels of gaming space, including premium VIP salons and an outdoor themed casino and entertainment bar.
Some games and entertainment were also provided adding fun to the night.
What is amazing about the entire day tour was that each and everyone of the delegates appreciated the warm hospitality we Filipinos provide our guest. I can feel their admiration of how they were welcomed in every venue we went to. Walking among them in the tour, they have nothing but all good things to say about Filipinos, especially during our travel by bus as we proceeded from one destination to the next.
Filipinos will always come back home to where they originated. They will never forget their roots,a nd they will bring along their foreign friends to boasts of how great and beautiful the Philippines is. After all, it's indeed more fun in the Philippines.
