Are you aware of the 12 Olympian gods? Many of us are addicted to stories that are related to the gods and goddesses. But do we know who they really are? why are they here? where are they from? what are they for? who are they to us?
There are said to be 12 Olympian gods living in mount Olympus.
These 12 Olympian gods are consist of Zeus the god of the sky and ruler of the Olympians,
Poseidon the god of the sea, Hades the ruler of the underworld, Hera the
goddess of marriage, Demeter the goddess of harvest, Hestia the goddess of
hearth, Ares the god of war, Athena the goddess of wisdom, Apollo the god of
music, Artemis the goddess of hunt, Aphrodite the goddess of love and Hermes
the god of thieves and commerce. We have known these gods and goddess from the
very beginning. But the main question here is do they really exist?
One of my favorite gods is the goddess of harvest known as
Demeter. This is because of her unique story that we are all aware of. The story
tells that when her daughter Persephone was abducted by Hades, she became very
sad which became the reason why all the plants and crops died. Zeus was alarmed
by this and sent Hermes to retrieve Persephone but Hades already fed Persephone
with pomelo seeds and had a claim on her. To solve the problem they have
decided that Persephone will live 4 months on earth, making now the spring, and
four months at the underworld which gives us fall. With this story we proved
that Demeter really cares for the people that are important to her.
I am also caring to
the people I love and are close to my heart. I never let bad things happen to
those people that are important to me. I always think of their sake first
before mine which makes me and her very much alike. And this is the reason why
she is my favorite god
All of us have one or more traits of the gods. We might not
have supernatural powers like their but we are special in our own way. They maybe
gods but they are not that different from us. We too can do godly things if we
wish to do it. In relation to my question, do they really exist? The answer is
yes. The gods and goddesses do exist. They exist in each and every one of us. I
consider myself as Demeter because I am caring like her. How about you? Which god
are you?
