Japan is known as the "Land of the Rising Sun" which means "sun's origin." Philippines is also known as the "Republic of the Philippines." Philippines also has it's famous slogan "It's more fun in the Philippines" which was launched by the Department of Tourism. Talking about the people of both countries, people living in Japan are called Japanese while the people living in the Philippines are called Filipinos.

Let's talk about the events, celebrations, or holidays in both countries. Bon-Odori Festival in Japan is a traditional Japanese summer festival featuring Japanese drum music, dancing and special summer food.

Shichi-Go-San Festival  is a traditional Japanese festival where parents celebrate on the fifteenth of November their children growing up as they turn three, five and seven years of age. In the Philippines, they also have different  festivals that they also celebrate. One of these is Tanduyong Festival,  a parade to give thanks for a good harvest participated by various barangays and establishments in colorful costumes and instead of marching, dance in the street. Another is Kinulob Festival, it gives recognition to the local native chicken raisers. It is one way of cooking the whole chicken with unique presentation. Street dance competition, mini band exhibition, cultural presentation and Mutya ng Mabini pageant are some of the highlights of the festival.
