Same Sex Marriage: Is it Really a Sin or Should We Already Accept It?
Wazzup Pilipinas!
Yahoo News Philippines reports that Filipino lesbian couples were able to tie the knot during a same-sex wedding ceremony in Quezon City. Six lesbian couples were married officiated by The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Straight Christian Church, a lesbian gay bi-sexual and transgender community church. Reports state that same-sex marriage is not legally recognized under the Philippine law.
Matrimonial law may have been changed over the years, but the law has never fundamentally been altered the essential nature and essence of marriage. It is life-long commitment and a bond between man and a woman and not man and a man or woman and a woman.
Many are saying homosexuality is still a BIG SIN. Even if you create a church of your own, it will never be pleasing in the eyes of God. It's self-will, disobedience and pride of man that still persist. Sodom and Gomorrah were also marrying gays and lesbians at that time.
Below is what seems like a prayer. You be the judge:
Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good,," but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We confess:
We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.
We have worshiped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of your will. I ask it in the Name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ.
What a hypocritical society! We condemned these people for expressing their love and yet we all tolerated infidelity, lust and hatred. And we quote God as if we are talking to Him. Who knows what God thinks and what He wants?! We curse ourselves for our sin; not others for their own!
Religious arguments aside, gay marriage legalization is one of equality between citizens. Therefore people who are LGBT or whatever race or sexual orientation should be treated equally under the eyes of the LAW.
Narrow minded, old fashioned homophobes need to open their eyes to the 21st century.
I'm still against same sex marriage. I'm not against Gay and Lesbian people. I'm against their homosexual acts or Condemn their homosexual acts. I won't follow what is Bad.
God created marriage. Marriage is between one man and one woman. No human being has the right or authority to redefine it. No matter what governments and societies sanction, homosexual unions will never truly have equality with heterosexual marriages.
Morality doesn't go along with progress, it's two different things.
But don't argue with a bigot like me. Like what Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. said, "The mind of a bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract."
