Wazzup Pilipinas!
Two great bands Join The Club and Tanya Markova performed right after the other at the Gateway Park of the Araneta Center on June 12 Independence Day night to celebrate freedom.
Dubbed as "Facebook Face Off : Freedom Rocks!", the free concert was a treat to the crowds who witnessed two great bands perform popular songs from the bands albums.
It was admirable of Araneta Center to hold a free concert for their patrons and consumers who frequent Araneta Center, and to even hold a Facebook giveaway to lucky followers of their Facebook page. The crowd were also given an opportunity to try out great food available at their food market stalls located at the Gateway Park.
Witty and talented members of the bands from Join The Club and Tanya Markova pleased the crowd with several songs. Join The Club sang the ever popular "Nobela" and "Lunes" plus new songs from their album as well, while Tanya Markova also played several songs including "Picture, Picture" plus a number of medley with excerpts of songs coming from other popular OPM songs.
The Freedom Rocks free concert also gave the audience opportunities to win some prizes from the Araneta Center during games at the free concert which included fans singing songs from Join The Club. The fan with the best song to please the crowd won some gift certificates from sponsors of the event.
There were several other games like a beer drinking contest for men and women above 18 years old, most number of body parts identified starting with a certain letter, and plenty more.
I managed to take photos of two food stalls namesly iCup and Audea's Tapa Pa - first among my list who gave us a bigger free taste of their food (both were satisfactory but can do better) while the rest of the food stalls out there gave only a mouthful to taste (so sad - it could have been your opportunity to sell and gain a customer - but I am not convinced by just an itsy-bitsy portion of even your specialties), and a few that didn't offer any free taste at all. It is such a disappointment iCup stopped giving away their milk teas after the concert was over.
Special mention also to Silverware corporation for their bottles of Sarsaparillas.

As both bands joked during their performances, maybe next time they will be able to perform inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Their performances were worthy of the opportunity to be among the stars that were able to perform inside the big dome of the Araneta Center.
Videos of performances of both bands can be seen at our YouTube account name Pinoy Tekkie.
More videos coming soon!!!
