Subic: A Tour of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA)
Wazzup Pilipinas !
It's More Fun-tastic in Subic during the Holy Week!
We got invited to attend the Subic Pascha press conference held a few days before the said event which will start on March 26 and will end on March 31 during the Holy Week celebration. Subic Pascha is a Food and Fun Festival to be held at the Subic Bay Boardwalk sponsored by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and the owner of the Red Crab group of companies which includes restaurants like Seafood Island, New Orleans, Claw Daddy, and a lot more.
Aside from the Food Festival, several activities will be held including performances by bands from Manila which includes Sub Projekt, Matthew Carbonell, Jeff Cifra & the Driven Band, and True Faith.
There will be a Car and Bike Display, an Inflated Playground, an Animal Encounter, Poi/Fire Dance, Fireworks at nightime, Volleball and Football competitions, an Exhibition Game, a Film Viewing of the Passion of Christ, Easter Egg Hunting and many more.
We were given some perks before and after the presscon which was suppose to happen sometime noon. We got to Subic a few hours early so everyone was treated to a short tour of the SBMA grounds on board our service vehicle provided by the SBMA.
We've seen a few gigantic ships anchored in the piers of SBMA so we had to go down from our service vehicle and took pictures. We simply can't resist taking pictures.
We passed the proposed venue for the Subic Pascha : Fun and Food Festival. There's already a structure prepared so I think it will just require a few more additions before it becomes complete.
The last thing you would be doing in this beach is swim because Swimming is Strictly prohibited. Only sunbathing is allowed.
We also passed by the Lighthouse which seems like a hotel near the bay. True to its name, it had a lighthouse structure facing the bay area.
The venue of our presscon was at the Claw Daddy restaurant in Harbor Point mall. The mall was an Ayala Land property which was a moderately sized mall but the tenants there were first class.
Never miss out on a photo opportunity especially when its summer related. The miniature yacht replica in the background couldn't really pass for the real thing, but the Harbor Point branding was just what I need for the proper branding of my picture.
We finally got to the Clawdaddy resto which was like combined with the New Orleans restaurant. The decors were apparently western retro. If you see the waiters with a crab like hats then those are from Claw Daddy, for the New Orleans, mardi gras descors like the masks and colorful necklaces.
If I could still remember, the food served was New Orleans chicken steak, with Louisina Seafood Marinara
Our host for the day was a charming lady named Michie
Raul Marcelo is the Deputy Administrator for the Business Group of SBMA
Raymund Magdaluyo, owner of the Red Crab group of companies, is the co-producer of the Subic Pascha event.
Bloggers (or the new media), along with the trad medias, would always be present in media launches or presscons. They would be the younger and prettier breed of fine men and women. ...with no offense to the trads who are the veterans, trained and experienced writers.
Bloggers write as if they're just writing o a diary or journal, while trads are said to be a little more serious.
Meet Philip, our trusted tour guide from SBMA. He's a big guy with many stories to tell during the tour, and probably a guy with a big heart as well.
But one thing we are so sure, we will never forget about his biggest siopao and puto bumbong steamers (referring to the huge structures that were similar in appearance to the said cookers).
